One of my favorite VN / anime / game brands, I've loved Type-moon's work since I first watched the Fate/stay night anime, which led me to the visual novels, which led me to the spinoff games, and then to Carnival Phantasm, which led me to the other non-fate story arcs by Type-Moon.

One of the things that I give them props for is their lack of "super happy alls-well-that-ends-well" endings, there's pretty much always some level of sadness to each ending. And they're not afraid to have characters with true issues, or have realistic villains with true lacks of morality in the opinion of the majority of the audience, but for one reason or another will feel they are in the right. The characters all have true background to them for the most part.

And.... then there's Carnival Phantasm, which takes a bit of humor to everything.

Other's experiences?

What, our forums aren't GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU ANYMORE?! J/K, I'm more of a fan of the Watanabe series (i.e. Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop), and this seems a little to...eh..."bouncy" I guess? Might give it a watch, though.

Eh, it's mostly a comedy of the True Ancestor series and Fate/stay Night. You should read those visual novels for the serious side of things.

Carnival Phantasm though just manages to be a lighthearted take on two series which have rather dark elements to them.

Just go through Heavens Feel and you'll see. lol
