-i dont care if you love MLP and want to show it in your personal life.

-i dont care if u want to dress as a pony and do pony things at cons or whatever

-i dont care if u want to have a MLP off topic forum to chat with your pony loving friends.

- i DO care if you decide to role play MLP in the middle of a mission, but that goes for trekkies, starwars ect. ect. ect.
just please keep the MLP seperate from BT which is what i love

Ah, really? Nice, think you're gonna go career? I served 4 years active myself back in 2002-2006, went to Iraq as well. That's a pretty badass job, btw.

Seriously, I'm not trying to troll. I have nothing against bronies nor furries. I'm only trying to say why it seems so out of place in a MWO forum to me, and hopefully to explain why others have hate for it.

Depends on how shore duty is. I hope to knock out a lot of college courses during the time being, so right about the 10 year mark, I'll make the decision to go career, or go to college.

Hard choices considering I really want to go into audio engineering, although I could always get a BA in that and continue making music through my career.

If I've come across as very stressed today, well, it's because I am. Fox News did an article on military bronies, and seemed to focus only on the only 2 people out of 50 military bronies that were breaking uniform regulations, so us in the military that like the show have been dealing with that the past 2 days.

I like the show because it's a good stress relief for day to day work, and the community helped me discover my passion for making music.

Wow, an actual, reasoned position. I don't agree with 100% of it (close enough though), but it's well reasoned. That's a rare quality here.

LOL, I like how in contrast to your response to my posts, you respond favorably to one that pretty much insults the entire brony and furry community. Class act.

26 out of 30 posts contributing effectively nothing to this community besides starting arguments over your dislike of other groups. I think you'll hit that 90% milestone before you know it. Come on, Suprentus, I believe in you. You can do it.

To Suprentus, Though I agree the in general threads do not need to have anything pony related in them, aside from the possability of Recruitment severs for the Pony related Houses/clans/merc corps. I will say in defense that since this is the Jettisoned off topic server, which essentially means that actually posting something about mechwarrior online here would be in the wrong, that the ponies and pony haters have all the right in the world to post away in here, obviously as long as they follow the set forth guidelines like keeping the general discussion threads to a minimum of just 1 thread a piece.

I will also say on a side note to everyone that we as bronies have strayed into different threads, but these threads are usually combined with the larger Pony thread, so it isn't so much that we have not made them, it is that they are merged faster than most can see, similar to how most of the hate threads are deleted due to personal bashing of individuals. So yes, we are not following the rules to the best of our abilities, we should strive to be more diligent in keeping our bronieness to the proper threads and not make new ones.

Im a Furry, and a bronie and I'm proud of it, but never would I ever shove it into someones face, would I be open to you about it? yes. why? because I know people have a problem with it, and keeping it a secret from them, may cause more harm than good.

Cool. I knew from the beginning of my enlistment that four years was enough for me. I served in data systems in a comm platoon in an infantry unit, so I ended up being like 3/4 computer guy, 1/4 infantry. I got out a Sergeant and things are working out for me. I'm taking advantage of my VA benefits for school and a house, and getting a BA in Systems Administration.

Ah, that must suck concerning that Fox thing. I hate it when they do things like that. I don't really pay attention to Fox, myself. No worries. Like I said, I haven't seen the show, but the way I've seen it, it most likely has solid character development for a children's show, a rare thing in children's programming that takes its audience for idiots. Still, I don't see myself getting into it though. Some would tell me to grow up after saying I'm into anime and really like Gurren Lagann, for example. Here, I'm all about mechs and blowing **** up.

Only if you end up actually bothering to spend that much time here, and more than 85%+ of them don't end up being worthless diatribes arguing with people in a thread about dislike of other groups, the way it is presently.

I'd be disappointed if you actually managed to have a notable percentage of your posts actually represent some kind of positive contribution to this community. Really, don't let that get above 10% or so, or it might just deserve a flogging.

I hardly care, personally. It's a little annoying, but the entire human experience is dealing with annoying things. You can let them dominate you, or you can just look past them. I choose the latter.

Man, you're really fired up about this, and you still refuse to acknowledge that I never attacked bronies or furries, nor expressed any hate towards them. Your posts have lost any meaningful impact the moment you misrepresented what I said. Just let it go, man. Live and let live, already.

I've always been a bit of a stickler for the rules, we were requested to stick to a single thread when it came to boasting and promoting MLP, so that is what we should do, to do otherwise somewhat goes against the whole bronie thing in the first place, and it erks me a bit to see people go against the rules, your opinion is admirable and though I would agree in most situations with this, the rules and guidelines have been set forth so we should follow them. But that is simply my opinion on the subject nothing more.

Awww, you see? You broke your trend here.

Suprentus, my problem wasn't that you attacked bronies (which is not the same as expressing dislike), it's that you are claiming something is out of place in a community in which you, yourself have offered nothing but a net negative contribution, in which the vast, vast majority of your posts really have amounted to diatribes, arguing with multiple people in every post, in a thread regarding an intrinsically negative topic.

If you want meaningful discussion, then let's see you go out and start having just that, and try to be a positive member of this community, which you're clearly capable of doing, rather than having your only showing here be... this. I doubt it's your sole reason for joining this community in the first place.

So let's do just as you say, let it go, and see if maybe we can have our discussions take place somewhere where said discussion actually amounts to something productive.

Well, it's a difference of opinion, not much more to say about it. One would think I'd be a stickler for rules and regulations, being a former Marine and everything, but I guess I just ended up adopting a different set of values. By no means am I out to break rules or disrupt society or anything, I just like immersing myself into the full uninhibited human experience.

My TWO YEAR OLD daughter watches stuff like that (and we don't even let her watch the pony show as it isn't educational). That is why.

Indeed, which is exactly what members should be spending at least some portion of their time doing here. Hopefully that'll be a continuing trend.

As for this thread, I think we can all agree it's more than run its course?

Dude, seriously, take your condescending attitude elsewhere, I'm not buying. You know, not everything has to be "productive" in a community. You know what also builds a community? Unfiltered intelligent discussion about various subjects. Maybe we can take away things about ourselves and others that we didn't have before. Who knows, it could happen.

While I intend not to break the rules, I will share my opinion where I see fit, and I will do so in my own way. If others take value in them, then that's great. If my opinions honestly go towards improving the whole gaming experience, then that's great too. What I don't need is someone self-righteous like you swooping in and trying to tell me how meaningful my existence on this forum is.

Fine, then have your entire existence on these forums amount to little more than useless adversarialism and don't be a contributing member, which we have hundreds of other members doing with or without you.

If, however, you actually want to try to have a civil conversation, I'll be around. See you then.

Right, I'll take my "thin veil", and you can take your total lack, and we'll go our separate ways for now. And if, per chance, you insist on having the last word, I won't make it difficult for you. Good day.
