Turrets need to be calliope's. Atlas needs weapons. So what if a single light can't take a turret out, it needs to be a challenge, not a given.

out of the 5 times on attacker in escort my team has won 5 times. <shrug> maybe I'm just lucky and dropping with the good teams constantly, or maybe the raven i pilot is secretly super OP.

I see you all Tier 1 pilots criticizing PUGs, are those Tier 1 PUGs really that bad? For me it seems that after T4 things in PUGs start to get organized.

Have both won and lost as attacker. Finding VIP early on and having a proactive team really helps

What was your endgame damage total? And how much do you estimate you put into the atlas?

~650 and I put about 450-500 of that into the VIP. My damage was spread out when it changed direction and turned towards me so I did end up taking out the RT as well as most of the arm.

In my KDK 3 I blew away the VIP and shot no one else for about 400 damage spread again when it turned away from me in its path.

The VIP seems like it has the perfect amount of armor, it only moves 20 KPH and a single heavy or assault can take it down and probably a strong medium too but still lives long enough that people can fight around it and it'll last most of the fight.

When I played Defense to get my AS7 statue I body blocked the VIP while fighting with my KDK 1, I moved ahead of it and soaked damage till both torsos and center were crit then I broke off and trailed it letting it take the damage while I took out 2 more enemies before dying.

This mode isn't hard for either side, it just takes some getting used to. If you're in an heavy or assault and everyone is firing on the VIP, go ahead of it and soak some damage to keep it alive a little longer. On offense, pick your battles, sometimes it is better to focus fire the VIP and take it out quick, I did this in a match that was 2 kills vs 6 and got the VIP while losing the fight.

The short answer is yes.

The long answer is... if the Defenders aren't taking advantage of the fact that the VIP Atlas is super tanky and try to use it to their advantage... well, it's their problem.

A mech that's not shooting at you, is an easy target. When the opfor is attacking the VIP Atlas, you have the opportunity to shoot at mechs that aren't shooting at you.

However, hiding is not going to get stuff done consistently. Just saying.
