A quick search on alibaba for custom 10 inch resin figure, shows manufacturing cost at $20~$50 a piece before shipping. (or licensing cos lol china)
Yet still not matching the details seen on the Atlas.
Err 1. the figurine is made in USA.
2. It is going to be hand painted.
3. I am more then sure the size, quality and paint quality are way way different.
You want to compare, compare with something of the same grade:
https://store.na.squ...m/action-figure
USD$199 for
DC COMICS VARIANT PLAY ARTS -KAI- BATMAN™: TIMELESS – BUSHIDO – DESIGNED BY HITOSHI KONDO
I also think the Atlas cost is very high, but it is market price, and not some rip you off "special" pricing. So either buy or dont buy. Complaining about the price is ... they dont care, especially since they are not over charging.

If you look at BT fans as people looking to buy a car and you only offer them to sell a top end Lamborghini, do you really find it odd that most of them would say .. way too high? I mean yes it will flatter the elitists who can afford it and the figure is something all can agree is fine/great , but for something that needs "mass appeal" ( 1000? ) to even be created are they not making a mistake/overestimate of the demand/price ratio of the offered product?
Also it might hurt future offerings if this one doesn't go through, they might come to the conclusion that "BT fans just don't want mech figures" when BT fans just don't want ~200$ figures and would probly buy 25~50$ ones....

I'm a traditionalist and far prefer the original designs over the "artsy" ones. Only Nova Cat and Clan Wolf's came out good looking.
All the Inner Sphere hooded T's designs look great though. If I was still Draconis Combine I'd definitely have gotten one of those!
And if the statue was a Summoner I would've ordered one immediately...and maybe the Atlas as well so I could set them up on my bookshelf "battle scene style."
I'll be keeping an eye out for variety on the statue selection. Hopefully more offerings will come.

ontop these are all still hadnpainted, and cheap ones often tend to have a load of bad paintjobs, so the atlas price is rather resonable.
I hope we get the other clanbanners soon and pgi also implements them to be chosen.
but -1 for using feet to measier the banners. dafuq of a mesurement is that?

I am in exactly the same boat. I was 100% prepared to throw money for two banners and two hoodies, despite wearing/owning no hoodies, but I cannot tolerate what was done to the Clan logos. I have no particular affinity for the Atlas, but perhaps I will order one in the hopes they do a Timber Wolf or something else Clan next.

Edit: I remember this from the 90's. At the time I was a teenager and broke as hell. I would snap this up in a heartbeat today.

They couldn't find enough Tinfoil to make sure everyone around here got a Hat, so no Hats.
P.S. PGI got >$600.00 for 'digital" Mechs. Given this is a "real" thing, like tangible, holdable and all that, maybe $195.00(plus exchange) maybe ain't so bad. I just hope HBS don't sell Mechs and Tech for use in the game....

pre-ordered a Liao hoodie.
Holding back on the banners, want to know the size and material before buying.
Plus Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year and my oversea holiday coming up in spring, money is really tight.
2nd this gentleman.
If only it was AWESOME, I'd buy it instantly, but goddamn Atlai, never loved 'em.
Ordered longsleeve too.
And banners are OK quality.
Mine (from Battletech KS-backer heraldry) is 7/10.
They could use better textile, better paint and make em more accurate, mine has some out-of-place dots, made by spray paining, I assume.
