Why not simply have a popup message when a beta user with under 50 posts tries to start new thread?

Most likely it belongs in the beta section because they are clueless and didnt read the info given to them or anything they signed, but a popup message is next to unmissable.

I have seen about 5 new threads about beta partcipants discussing the beta in the last day in the non beta section.

Not that i mind the snuck out info. Just saying...do it...ill be ok its for the greater good.

I remember back in the day when we hated popups xD

That would require additional coding work. Work that would distract from the game. :)

I think we should just stick with the closing of NDA-breaking threads and kicking people out of the beta who break the NDA.

Actually it would only require 2-5 minutes from a person remotely familiar with this topic to make a big warning sign appear whenever a beta participant posts in the non-beta section. Just sayin'. :)

Add an NDA violations bullet to the "posting etiquette" topic and auto send new users a pm suggesting they read it (not like it's a long read or something).

Now no one has an excuse.

Doesn't violate the NDA as far as I can see, though of course I don't know the content of it. Just saying. Point's still valid.

It's still a valid point. And no, I'm not in the beta.

This is a tad unreasonable. It's not that difficult to code something like this, surely.

I'm not even in the beta so it would never affect me regardless of what was implemented.

You got a better number number than 50 for someone to be considered familiar enough with the forums not post in the wrong section?

No you don't cos 30 or 70 or have the reminder all the doesn't really matter you missed the point entirrly

Also your perception of other people sucks

Well... they don't have an excuse anyway, since they've already agreed to the NDA. If they don't read the NDA properly, why would they read the posting etiquette topic? But giving a popup gives them one last chance to turn back =)

You are right about them technically agreeing to the NDA, but I figure a PM upon signing up would at least make them aware of it in advance without directly interfering with their posts. If the NDA is a long *** EULA, I'm betting there are tons of people just scrolling to the bottom of the page and hitting "OK".

In the end though warnings probably wont do much to stop NDA violations because a lot of people tend to ignore that kind of stuff when it comes to video games...they just want to play the game now.

Mods will just have to stay on top of until open beta.

They should be able to easily flag all beta participant's so they have to hit a confirm button when posting outside the beta forums....

somehow though I think most of the supposed beta leak posts have been trolls. Note how long it takes b4 those post get deleted if ever?

Pretty much every game in beta has a secluded forum section for beta testers. It's only logical to assume this one would as well.

It's an expensive troll though - couldn't they risk total exclusion from beta even past 7 August? Or do you mean they're not even interested in MWO and are just here to annoy us?
