I just decided to come back to MWO having seen a couple of videos about Clan hero mechs... and considering I have ~20k MC to burn.

So why can't I find for example the Dire Wolf "Ultraviolet" for purchase with MC? I've already handed over money for virtual currency so what is the problem? Where can I buy the hero mechs? Are they available?

Actually that depends on 'how much' MC you buy for how it translates, if you only buy them in lots of 6.95, yeah you might be paying about 30 bucks for a Dire Wolf hero. The 29.95 lots, closer to 25 dollars. The 49.95 lots, looks to be about 23 dollars. The 99.95 lots, it'll be about 22 bucks.

The Viper and Phoenix Hawk heroes on the package deals are 15 dollars each... In MC without the sale...
You're looking at slightly over 18 dollars for the 6.95 packages.
15 dollars and 20 cents for the 29.95 packages.
13.74 for the 49.95
13.19 for the 99.95

So yeah. o.O;

Ah cool thanks for the info guys! I guess I'll just finishing mastering some mechs I had on the go in the meantime. That Dire Wolf is a beast by the looks of it!

Also a number of heroes are on sale as well MC-wise.

Since you're returning, so you know all the 'skills' you unlock since 2012 are going to get reset; all the XP you earned are being refunded as legacy GXP.
And a whole new skill tree (that doesn't require 3 mechs to get to elite or master) will be implemented next month.
