So No Town Hall ...

Russ stated Town Hall after Mech Con to go over everything that gets announced and answer some questions. So we not doing this? Been awhile since Mech Con. Doubt the Town Hall during Christmas weekend. So yeah? Anyone? Anyone at all have any word on when? Or if?

Right now they are more worried about choosing Christmas gifts for their loved ones. There won't be anything until next year.

What on earth do they intend to with FP. Seriously, if they can't even design a persistent factional warfare system that has been a staple of MMOs since Ever Quest, then what reasonable person would think PGI's new sandbox single player campaign wouldn't turn into a dog's breakfast.
We know PGI can do mechs. We also know PGI can't do much of anything else; the talent and leadership just isn't there. Listening to the non-info that is Town Hall vs listening to HBS's dev diary is like night and day in terms of vision, logic and experience.

THE zebra And proud of it!
And yes, Mech Con 2017 would be great... perhaps I could join this time... hope they will do it!
So yeah we have to wait a bit for the next townhall / roundtable but let's hope they can get some questions answered then. Especially for the new XP system.

Sure the town halls have been useless drunken banter to a large degree, but some have been pretty decent. A rushed town hall right now would be guaranteed to be mostly useless I think.
My most pressing concern right now is the future of IS vs Clan tech balance, I want them to take a principled stand of what direction they want to take it. I can see several acceptable approaches, but unprincipled kinda balanced 1v1 but not actually really...that isn't one of them.
I just want to know if actually balancing the base tech ton for ton is on the table or not, and if the answer is no then that's ok, fine, then make a clear statement what other method it is going to be done with.

I definitely agree with the latter. MWO is the history of a game with rock solid fundamentals, labored by a total lack of vision. But that's why I'm not really interested in what they have to say about CW. I was interested about what Bryan Ekman had to say in 2013. Then they threw 80% of that out the window, and now I've given up on CW. The one time they actually sat down some community members to discuss in a roundtable, they spent the time talking about... buckets and long tom. That's it. And that was the only roundtable in... how long?
For me, it's whatever. I enjoy quickplay. I'll enjoy it until I move on to MW5 or Star Citizen or something else.

Besides. if we cut him more slack for getting plastered and having fun after work whilst still technically working, he'd be willing to do it more often. You're not going to get what you want to hear regardless of whether he's had a few and is amusing or whether he's dry as a bone, in every sense of the phrase.
Also? It's Christmas, guys. They just threw their Big Event, and now they'd like to spend some time with the family. Cut 'em a break and let them have the holidays off the same way the rest of the world gets to. We can start cracking the whip again after New Year's.

When was the last new map added? When is the next one being added?
Are rumours of Aerotech true?
Will giant scary alien bugs be added for a horde mode?
All the obvious questions.

So, mostly more promises about FP changes that Russ thinks are great, ignoring community suggestions, and an update on the status of buckets? You're a cool guy and I definitely am NOT shooting the messengers here, but why should I or anyone else be excited to hear about more, very probable to, be broken promises? ALSO WHERE IS MY COMMAND CONSOLE UPDATE?

Case in point : When was the last time you saw PGI say anything about the placeholder critical hit system which was in place since beta?
