I need help designing an interactive planetary map, I have been looking some Hex map creators, etc. but trying to decide if I should use an HTML based script and code it out myself (may take ages lol) or if anyone has something already designed and would be willing to contribute.

I played KingCobra last night in a 1vs1 on GameRanger and it brought back some memories. I immediately went into competitor mode and began my ultimate tactic for victory rather than just lining up face to face and going bang bang. KC didn't have as much fun as he remembered, while I was giggling like a school girl the entire fight lol.

Again if I can get 50-100 people that would be awesome, hell even if I can get 20-30 people I would be happy :) I just bought the domain name and will be putting the site up shortly. Anyone willing and wanting to contribute or assist you can visit me at http://www.defiantz.net or the new domain once it's up at http://www.mechcommanderleague.com

This has my interest for sure, ill have to give it a look over. I just skimmed though quickly but MCG always has been fun for me so I can get behind this.

I'll play some Mechcommander. I've never really done any "league" stuff. Mostly just a single player guy since my real life friends would never play with me. I'm probably not going to be too good, but sure, I'll play.

Hello,
Yes I put up the league site in haste and we have decided to support multiple games and MCG or MC2 will be supported. I made an announcement here a couple days ago discussing what was going on and once we are ready to reveal the new league, I will post another announcement.

We are coding / installing the new league on the new server as we speak. Some of the games we are considering / planning on running is a MWO, BF3, ME3, MCG or MC2 and what ever suggestions our members are interested in. As long as we can maintain activity in those games and come up with a legitimate rule set, we will support it if requested.

I'm entirely up for a MCG 'league' style game, it would be pretty cool.

Question, when playing, will it restrict players to 1 mech per person instead of commanding an entire lance?

No, you command the entire lance.

I want to create a planetary as well but it just depends how much interest we garner. If we get about 25+ players it would be considered a win in my eyes and worth drafting up the rule set.

League is coming along very nicely, better then initially expected based on past experiences. We will hopefully get enough members to use GameRanger as a main means for creating matches. It will not be required, but definitely useful in doing instance matches. So there will be the ability to issue a challenge via the league coding and schedule the match for a later time, or issue a challenge and play now ability in which GameRanger is an awesome working tool to facilitate such.

Try it now, we are constantly working on the site and could cause a slow down or so till we stop tinkering with it.

I just checked it and it's working fine... : /

Hey guys i am running mechcommander gold on my win7 64 bit machine. When you download the ISO don`t install the game just create a folder and copy and paste the ISO contents and the game should just run, you may need to window then full screen the game if the colours go funny though.
This is the fix i used very simple and no virtual machines required or editing of compatibility modes.

I've been wanting to get in on some of the action with your community but family life has gotten the better of my time. Getting ready to move from Ohio to Florida in the next two weeks so I've been a little busy in my spare time.

It uses the old IPX protocol, which is not available on modern OS's. So, you have to find a work around, or install the old protocol. Gameranger may work, or if you can find it, there is an old website that hosts a mutliplayer service for playing MCG online.
