Like the Viper, Cicada, or Ice Fridge.

Do you think that they have a role in MWO? What is it?

I think I prefer 30-35t Lights because the smaller size makes the enemy shoot you less often (compared to when you are in a 40 tonner) which leads to the heavier Lights as better scouts.

The quirked Cicada with Medium Lasers was good, though.

40-45 ton Mediums have far better quirks than 35 ton Lights, so there is that.

Are you after fast lights? Fast mediums? Any medium that can hit 90-110kph is considered fast on the is side. Lights are mostly for hit-and-run or ambushing a lone mech. Most clan lights go 97kph with the ach being their number one light. Jenner 2c for 140kph speed.

For lights on the is side the top three are locust, raven 3l and jenners. Clans are ach, jenner 2cs and kit fox.

If I agree with you, will my Adder get more quirks? Because I wouldn't turn my nose at more quirks for one of my favorite mechs in regards to gameplay.

Adder got a power boost thanks to its Hero variant hardpoint location. So pay up. :P

Pfffft. I'm talking about REAL Adders, which either carry dual PPCs or LRM launchers way too large for their tonnage to realistically fit any ammo!

Prefer my Viper over all the light mechs. It is more agile than just about anything except a Locust, has unparalleled jump capability which is a huge advantage in my eyes and using my play style and I tend to run a bit more firepower on it (2 Er ML and 6 ER SL vs just 6 ER SL on my Arctic Cheetah) so end up being able to do some medium range poking with it that I can't do on most of my other lights.

The only thing I don't like about the Viper is its lack of ECM option which does tend to hold it back a bit. I still have more fun with my Viper than anything other light or fast medium though despite no ECM.

I don't know why, but that image just reminded me that the Hollander, a FedCom battlemech, never got a RAC version.

What in the hell is up with that?

i'd give the best brawling machine medal, to the X-5, best 40 tonners laserboat the CDA-2B. i also have the viper, but it is so squishy compared to the ice ferret...

anyway, 40t mediums role should be dedicated light interceptor.

Before clans, Cicada with ECM was my favorite mech. I used him as sniper (2 PPC+ 2 med lasers)

Yes, they have a role. Squirreling with more armor and better quirks than the lights that used to squirrel.

the only reason i got the viper is to drive a similar CERSL nova, but faster. 10CERSL on the medusa, running at lightspeed. is funny.
