(People will accuse me of humble-bragging, but that's not the case here.)

I'm really wondering how big the BLR cockpit hitbox is.
Almost EVERY BLR I try to headshot, I do. I don't even aim exactely, just roughly with advanced zoom in the general cockpit area (4-5 ERLL). And they fall over dead every time.

For example my first game today: tourmaline, escort, long range duel. Second attempt on the cockpit after just shooting the torso in general: BLR dead.
Next game: Mining Collective, Skirmish. 2 attempts at medium range on a fresh BLR. Dead.

I googled the image below, but it does not feel right.

I don't nearly heatshot any other Mech that reliable. Afaik, I don't headshot anything it is unless powered down and I aim for a full second or so (so no, no humble brag).
And I'm sure I did not just kill it via CT. It takes at least 3 or 4 times the damage that I deal.
It must be something specific to the BLR cockpit.

It feels more like the whole glass area counts as cockpit, not just the yellow part.

Anyone having similar experiences?
Any BLR pilots wondering why they die quicker than expected?

I piloted Battlemasters a lot in 2015 and 2016 (it's even in my sig), and yes the cockpit is very easy to hit. Just read this thread I made.

The cockpit is basically a hidden CT durability quirk. Battlemaster is one of the very few mechs where full cockpit armor is a must.

I have full cockpit armor on every mech. How much tonnage do you spare?

On lights and faster medium I rarely put more than 6-8 points of armor on the head. Some heavys can go down to 10-12 depending how easy it is to get hit. Certain mechs like the Catapult or the Ebon Jag need their 18 points or else you risk getting killed in one shot.

The Battlemaster is pretty easy to kill. When I was playing my Gauss + 2ERPPC Timber I killed guite a few in close quarters if they didn't twist properly. I can see someone with good aim getting those cockpit shots regularly.

Interesting. So if one knows this, the BLR becomes an assault with the durability of a 70 kph 20tonner?
Fascinating :D
Looking forward to headshot more of you :D

I usually have 14-15 cockpit armor for Heavies and Assaults and 8-12 cockpit armor for Lights and Mediums. Full cockpit armor is 18 points which means if you strip it, you gain 0.56 ton.

Most of my headshots on record are on battlemasters and the recently released Marauder IIC, thanks to Bandito's little advice on where to shoot. Incredibly easy to hit with practice.

The third biggest culprit was the pre-rescale catapult.. good lord was that an easy kill, even by accident.

All other headshots I've gotten have either been total luck, an LRM boat staring at me intently (my favorite), or someone shut down from overheat.

sometimes the cockpt seems to have the whole glass area as hitbox.
Yesterday i got headshotted by a jumping(!) jenner. At that point i (guess i) have been hit the second or third time. and that was 4 minutes into a match...
Last week i got headshotted by the same guy twice and killed(!) while i was twisting like mad.

seems way to esy to headshot Battlemasters nowadays
