I use a kinda generic tag instead of a more real name because i don't do MMORPG much, and because i had no idea how deep the BT universe is when i started playing MWO - i knew the MW franchise and got some novels from the Warrior series when i was a kid (damned be those amazing covers), but thought the game would be a generic shooter.
Now i kinda regret that.

Still, my name comes from 2000, when a friend and i decided we would use rather dumb names for our squad while playing Half-Life and its numerous mods (mainly CS). His name was MegaGuerrier which is the french way to say Megawarrior/fighter, mine was XTremWarrior, already in english.
He had enough common sense to pick an other name while we grew up, i did not!
Though, that name (however stupid it sounds) grew up on me, and i found that my lack of patience and my daredevil (read "dumb") way of fighting suit this name pretty well, so i keep using it.
Also, it is usually not taken by anyone smarter than a 8 year old boy, so i can almost always pick it when my other goto generic name (ThePassenger, because Iggy Pop) is already used.

My real first name is Radek, and my middle name Konrad. I grew up during the arcade days where you only had 3 letter to typ on the highscore lists. So ... RADek, konRAD. Well... Rad it is.

However, it's quite common and I could not sign up with it even as a backer so I had to just add something random ... and for some reason I was thinking about Bane the Batman villian. Don't know why since he's not a favourite or such.

Radbane? .. yeah, sure, why not =)

Also, since Rad is the one I usually use, I've adapted the radioactive symbol as "my" symbol. It's tattooed to my arm and the decal is there, on every mech =P

"Chados" is a corruption of the word "shadow" and is pronounced "shadows." It is a sort-of babytalk nickname for a beloved cat we once had whose name was Shadowdancer, and I have used it as a gamer usertag for many years.

Nighthawk from F117-Nighthawk Stealth Bomber, 1337 from the leetspeak of LEET. That's basically it. I still have the free name change from PGI but I can't think of another cool name. Not too edgy and not too noticeable.

I hope you were thinking of the correct Bane, and not the one from the recent movies.

My name came from the Chaotic Evil Cleric I created for AD&D back when I was kid. Sounded like a demonic name to me when I made it up.

Years later somebody told me I misspelled it. Guess they thought I didn't know how to spell 'bellicose'. I had no idea what the term even meant at the time, but I fancy to believe it's rather fitting.

On a side note, back when I played Diablo 2 I joined a clan named HOGG where they made us create new characters using our individual names followed by '-HOGG'. Turns out my necro's name roughly translated into 'War Pig', Belacose-HOGG.

I've seen you in Kit Foxes slinging ER PPCs and doing damn well with them.

Seem to recall once in Tourmaline Desert you were the last survivor on our team and you single handedly took down the enemies last three mechs finishing off the dazed and confused Kodiak last.

Mine is simple. It's ire and scald, minus a 'd', put together. I got fed up trying to make a name on another game because it wouldn't accept any-(&@$*&%-thing I put in.

Otherwise, I'm also known as Iudex Umbra, which is Judge of Shadows (loosely in latin).

Just be glad it isn't my longest running previous name. That... that is a long story.

Scout Derek.

A name I came up with years before MWO; I wanted something easy for people to remember, as well as to say. when you're in the heat of battle, it's easy to forget some people's call sign and/or their long names. So scout came to mind. easy to say, commonly used.

Derek was the other half. what's a point to the word scout? it doesn't have that flair it should. so there's that.

Mine was me trying to think up a good name for a wizard way back when I made my first email account to play a F2P Korean MMO. Not much to it besides that. Well, there is the alternate version of this name. "Restovski Zhirov". That's from my days flying as a Coalition bomber/capital ship pilot in Freelancer. Those were good days.

Out of interest, which F2P korean MMO? My name also comes from the first game i made a lasting online character in, which was also a F2P korean MMO.. my race looked very much like the robot faction from UT2004, so i used one of their names.

MWO was the first online game I have ever played and I didn't really understand how to set up an account.

So...I entered the first part of my personal email address into the username box by mistake and hit enter.

So my username is a randomly generated email address assigned by me cable company.

<3. I didn't follow it well either and played under my real name for a bit before support graciously bailed me out.

I saw how awesome this guy was with his SRM/PPC KFXs, so I decided to make myself his apprentice.

I posted this in a similar thread a while back:

I usually get weird responses because of my callsign and what it implies, but as a kid I wanted to be a pilot in the Air Force. My hero was Captain Lance P. Sijan who was a pilot during the Vietnam War and lived a few miles away from where I do now. On his last sortie his callsign was AWOL 01. While on a bombing run on November 9, 1967, one of his bombs' fuses malfunctioned and it detonated prematurely. His copilot was killed and he was severely injured with a fractured skull, a crushed hand, and a compound fracture in his leg. Because he was far behind enemy lines, he refused to endanger the rescue crews by having them lower a a penetrator into the forest rather than send PJs (the Air Force's special forces unit). After withdrawing due to enemy AA fire, the SAR forces lost contact with Sijan, so he began to drag himself through the jungle toward the base he was stationed at. He evaded capture for over a month, and once he was captured, he overpowered his captors even with his extensive injuries. He continued his attempt to escape but was captured again a few hours later because of his inability to walk. He was repeatedly tortured but refused to give any information to his captors. Emaciated and in poor health, Sijan died of pneumonia in the infamous Hanoi Hilton on January 22, 1968. He was promoted to the rank of Captain and awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously for his extraordinary heroism and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty.

"US Air Force fighter call signs are given at naming ceremonies, and are usually based on how badly you've screwed something up, a play on your name, your personality, or just the whims of the drunken mob of pilots in attendance. Pilots rarely get to choose their own call signs, and trying to do so is considered bad form. Most aviators have one or more call signs during their service, often starting with a derogatory one early in their career before graduating to something more heroic once they've won the respect of their peers in the squadron. The more a pilot objects to a given call sign, the more likely it is to stick."

When I played MW:LL, I was doorknob, after what my father (Air Force himself) used to call me because of a rather embarrassing incident during a party. Here, I'm eyeballs, because without my glasses I'm blind (and doorknob was taken, dammit). Nothing special.

Side Note: Apparently when German speakers see the english word 'doorknob', they will pronounce it 'dork newb' because the 'kn as N' of knob is completely foreign for them. Or there was a German that just wanted to call me 'dork newb' all day erry day.

Mines just my first name and the number 1000. I could say I used 1000 because there's so many Dakotas in the world that I can use my first name online and still remain anonymous, but really its just because I had just used 1000 instead of my normal 0001 designation that I add just because my name's usually taken but it seems no one ever picks number one to add to it. I'm not much for creativity in naming.
