Alright, players new and old, I collected a few new heroes with the sale and I'm looking for non-meta builds.

So for the Lady Killer (Rifleman hero), the Roc (Phoenix Hawk hero) and the Pirate's Bane (Locust hero)... what would you like to see?

No TAG/Flamer-only builds (though TAG and Flamers are welcome).

Here's the build sheets for each. Show me what you'd like to see when I start making new videos after New Year's Day. They can be build ideas you are legitimately curious about or challenge builds (because you guys know I'm nuts).

Pirate's Bane
Roc
Legend Killer

Look forward to performing for ya.

Here's one for the Roc. Honestly don't really know what to do with mine. There's wiggle room with the engine etc., but its role is actually like a Heavy Light mech. Roll with a buddy and use the jump jets to your advantage.

Obviously, you'll want Radar dep, seismic on there if possible. For weapons I was thinking MPL range and SRM cooldown?

I was trying to use the M hardpoints, but another option is AC10 and MLs. You can also run 3LL and a smaller engine, but poking is hard with your E points so spread out.

So, don't realy need to see, it but this is Leone's Pirate's Bane built back in the day before the flamer nerf. Can still work with current flamers though. You could also try downgrading to XL 180 for small pulse instead of smalls.

Now I don't have it, and who knows, maybe you'd rather try streaks or flamers, but I think this could be a decent brawling Pheonix Hawk

Lastly, I like the concept, but you might wanna tone it down to three ppcs and a standard or something due to heat concerns, but... I've always like the idea of a Brawling Rifleman done up with ppcs and machineguns. I've had alotta fun learning to brawl with that 90m minimum range, and having the backup machineguns for after you blast off the armour and they charge you? Not a horrible idea.

Currently running Leone's brawling Rifleman with slight changes (mainly dropped 1.5 tons of MG ammo in favor of more leg armor.)

So far I really like it.

You face your destruction boldly and with distinction. As a mercy rule, any KMDD may be upgraded to a kill at a cost of 50 damage dealt. Should the PUG gods not favor you with kills, you may make up the difference by true aim and fearless aggression.

And remember - curse no one as you die.

Indeed.

Side note: This isn't much of a challenge; Locusts often die in one shot anyway and unlike with a ROFLpult, I get to aim. Though a Roflpult could tank despite having 126 points of armor. Still... The Roflpult build, if you're up for a counter challenge.

It may surprise you how much the armor on a locust counts. An incidental sprinkle of LRMs or Hail Mary laser fire at range will bring you down much, much faster than it normally would.

I don't own any catapults, but I have a close equivalent - the Rofljenner.

I doubt I'll be able to get a video though. Running MWO is already stretching the fragile capacity of my computer.

Edit:

It's surprisingly easy to run through seven tons of ammo*, and only about half of it makes it through AMS cover. Ammo efficiency really is the bane of the damage spreading weapons, especially on lights.

* I dropped a ton of armor. It all goes to the CT anyway.

When you are done and very bored. I have some load outs that I'd like a better player to try. With me it's, do I suck or do my builds suck or both?

A recording if it would be extra nice.

Seriously though, the extra engine beats out the ECM hand actuators down.

Solid run. Reminded me that I need to catch up on RWBY.

That little bit of extra armor also helped you keep your leg on. ECM's value is down to play style. Being able to rob an enemy's situational awareness is invaluable if you re-position a lot and do flanking runs, especially since you have that PPC which lets you fire without drawing a line straight back to you. You stopped moving a lot which is risky in a light, but you made excellent use of your meat shields and had an open window to kill that kit at the end.

Very well executed, Leon.

It was completely against my usual play style. Took me a while to work upto that run.

But yeah, I was completely getting ignored and got into some bad habits. I also got some pretty good breaks there too.

As I posted to No One's IM, I've been out of the loop lately with health reasons.

Will try for this weekend.

I'm curious to see how you manage with the Roc, as is it's the one Phoenix Hawk I've kind of struggled with. The SRM's kind of force you to get close, and that normally wouldn't be my play style of choice for the Phoenix Hawk.

I think my current build is like this. Original movement profile, LPL+2xML+2xSRM4 for weapons, plus twin AMS. Optionally drop the AMS's for a pair of DHS.

Any PXH can run XL255 and 3LPL if nothing else is good. That's how I have my Roc set up.

I was thinking about running that, it's just that my CN9-AL is already set up for that and probably does it a lot better. The jump jets would be a welcome addition though.
