I'll believe it when I see it. It was supposed to be released 2 years ago and they just keep pushing it. I think this might be no mans sky disappointment on a grander scale.

There's even some devs working on it who don't believe they can deliver on the promises made.

Coming from someone who plays MWO... LOL! This game took a while to deliver. Don't knock it and say it's a scam. The progress is coming along fine. Keep the negativity out. They haven't scammed anyone so why bother saying it's a scam. Please keep your negativity to yourself. I don't want it here in my thread.

Star Citizen isn't a scam, and Squadron 42 still has a lot of potential to be a pretty fun game. The public universe might end up being a mess, but that is still a ways out.

I'm hoping for the best. I might have to load it up this weekend and take a run around. It's been a while since I've checked out the latest there is to do. I think last time I was in was 2.3? They even have missions in there now!

Indeed. The "it's a scam!" people apparently think AAA video games only take 1-2 years to create. It is not like you have to be paying much attention to see the progress that has been made. The scope of SC has certainly changed, which could upset people who would have preferred a smaller project finished earlier, but that is kind of understandable when they went from "get enough money to make a basic Wing Commander spiritual successor" to "buried in cash." The game was scaled to player demand.

But what do I know? I am just going to go patch my SCam client and fly my Anvil Scammer against a couple dozen other flyable scam ship classes. Maybe try some Persistent Scam missions with my friends and of course check out the new Scam Marine content. Why, it is almost like they have made such a detailed scam that is it indistinguishable from a big-budget video game in production. Huh.

Star Citizen is bad and broken. Awful game design, awful control scheme... they need to deliver their initial promise of "not another Freelancer" or start over.

Is it going to be a disappointment to you much the same way MWO is a disappointment to you? So disappointed you put thousands of hours and hundreds of dollars into it?

I spent sixty bucks on MWO and have gotten my monies worth, despite it not being perfect. The time I spent playing is testament enough to me getting value back. I spent fifty-five bucks on Star Citizen. Who knows if they'll ever get it to a playable, fun state?
