So...just wanted to start a thread.
I've been gone from the game for a couple of years. At the time of my departure, the game was in a bad state, and wasn't really fun to me. UI 2.0 was clunky as hell. Brawling wasn't an option because everyone was guass/ERPPC sniping every game. and to me, the game was generally boring. So i took a prolonged break.
I just wanted to say to the Devs:
Thanks for letting us vote on levels now.
Thanks for letting us choose modes now, and to have more than 2 options
Thanks for taking the time to reconstruct levels and revamp them (although the drop points for Frozen City/ Forest Colony are kinda 0_o )
Thanks for giving us the option to automatically refill consumable modules
Thanks for giving the option to call out targets without a headset or typing out a full sentence while in full pilot
Thanks for resizing the catapult
Thanks for fixing most of the clunkiness of UI 2.0
Thanks for adding several more maps that are unique from the previous released maps
Thanks for letting us get back into the match we were disconnected from when we get disconnected
Only cons:
I still disconnect (seldomly (from the client crashing))
UI still takes a bit of familiarization and buying mechs with or without CB is clunky
Drop points for Frozen city/ Forest Colony.. seriously O_o
Thanks PGI even though this community is super ******* tiny and berate this game a lot, From a person that took a break for a while, the changes are monumental. Thanks for continuing to work on this game and let us Mech warriors battle it out. See you in the Rift.

BattleTech fans and MechWarrior fans are 2 distinctly different player camps. I have little interest in the upcoming BattleTech game, and have all the enthusiasm in the world for MechWarrior developments.
Then you sir are just dumb.

OP your Cons list is dramatically understated. Hang around a few weeks and see if your opinion changes.

I dunno man, I've been around since day 1 and my list of cons is fairly short. I'm not saying the game is perfect but I'm also not expecting the world on a platter and having the enterity of the Batteltech Universe in a MW game. This is MW after all, not Btech, and MW has always only ever been about the stompy-stompy-bang-bang.
(Also as a little side note: go back and play MW4:V if you get a chance, it's actually pretty damned TERRIBLE compared to MWO.)

All I have to say in addition is, if you're really unhappy with this game -- I mean, really unhappy, and you just begrudgingly force yourself to log in every day. Just take a break from the game. That's the advice i took from early forum posts a couple years ago, and it helped my mental state of mind immensely. And look, the game has changed a bit since then, and it will continue to change for better or for worse. If you're unhappy, and unable to enjoy the game at all, then take a break and go do something else for a while. If you don't want to do that, then you're a troll or at best, a masochistic SOB.

MASC!
I'm shocked that no one has mentioned MASC yet. MASC is pretty awesome, and is one of unfortunately few places, beyond the bare-bones fundamentals of mech combat, where I can honestly and enthusiastically give PGI credit for good design and implementation. I can't imagine ever taking out a MASC-capable mech without including the MASC.
PSA: Remember that MASC is all about acceleration, not speed. Use it for peek-and-poke, navigating buildings and cover, and zipping through brawls. If you're trying to use it only as a flat speed buff, you're doing it wrong.
