Another rough evening for Inner Sphere.

On a positive note, my matches went pretty well tonight. About half of them were real close and fun fights.

The stomps were needed. Nobody would get invasion matches otherwise. Eighty match score is a very low bar, but somehow pugs still fail.

I'm getting sick of near eternal QP.

Hardly played an invasion match in a week.

Dunno how it goes in Oceanic but in the other time zones, you have to get on early in the attack phase to get the other game modes. It drops into nothing but Invasion very quickly.

clearly what PGI needs to do is move players into different parts of the world, preferably with decent internet connection speeds. And a roof. And water and food. Maybe a wage. Then we will have balance.

Or I guess advertise and push (lol) more in other countries. That's probably cheaper.

I played Euro a bit the last week, the first 3hrs of the cycle. It never really moved outta skirmish.

Oceanic is eternal skirmish. Maybe some domination if you are REALLY lucky.

I haven't played the tail end of US cycle much the past week, I sometimes do. But that must be the only cycle it has really moved in the past week or so. Cause I think I've had all of 2 invasion matches.

I play FP to play FP maps and that in the cycles I've seen, never happen. If I want invasion it looks like I'll have to be US cycle only.

Well not really.

I barely lose a match that I am in.

And Clan is winning more "overall". Problem is it just takes soooo many games to get the pins to move in Oceanic because the volume of games/players is small.

I'd rather wait an extra 5mins and actually play FACTION PLAY maps. Not this stupid QP rubbish that is far too easy to win on.

COME ON!
You know what happens when you lose Oceanic! Who you face... what treacherous foe lurks in those waters!!

We dropped for 3 and a half hours tonight. Despite winning all our drops, someone else was losing all of theirs (pugs?).For the entire 3 and a half hours the bar basically didn't move and we were struck in Skirmish, which is the worst QP version of CW.

Conquest and Domination are a lot more interesting.. but my 12 man alone couldn't do it.. and skirmish, despite winning every match, was just wearing us down. We'd basically win in the first 4 minutes and spend then next 16 chasing down or semi-spawn camping enemy waves...

Ye I only lose to your 12man (and don't forget, we did beat you once last week lol), oh and the 228 one just now in which I still managed 1750dmg, 6 kills solo dropping Posted Image

I must have been dropping in all the other drops that were wins tonight. Just solo dropping mostly as no-one I know is on tonight. The IS Pugs tonight were REAL bad. PUG v PUG matches were 48-20... I mean, come on... Not even a fight.

But ye... I'm sick of eternal skirmish just the same as you guys would be as well. At least Conquest is interesting/faster paced.

We had a mixed 12 man running over the last two nights and over the course of 10 games had the pleasure of BMMU, EVIL, LORD, EMP, KCom and O7 showing us just how good they are and how inexperienced we are. So during the EU primetime there are some very strong groups running on the Clan side.

I actually stayed up playing solo until 03.30 and although I had a couple of good PuG vs PuG games defending on Invasion, the number of inexperienced players (both tagged and untagged) is a little disheartening. I'm no hotshot pilot but I refuse to complain about being outplayed, outranged or outpositioned: if this happens either I made a mistake or the other guy was simply better. The number of players that blame everything on everyone else is staggering.

The main reasons seems to be bad builds (LRM, Gauss, LL Atlas anyone?) and lack of map knowledge, even in groups this is telling. I could go into map for map advice but I don't feel I have the right to, let alone the energy to put enough thought and conviction into it. I would suggest that as many IS players as possible take a look at Mech The Danes FRR RKA 'Mech list, there are some strong 'Mechs and builds in there, then get on the FRR/Kurita TS hub and look for experienced pilots to drop with. Then LISTEN to them: if they're good you'll need to listen, watch and learn. Not try and convince them that there is no way to beat Clan 'Mechs "because they're just OP".

Sorry.... that almost turned into a rant. Man am I tired :(

I literally just got outta this match. I hear you man.

Called a push, because we were 9 strong vs 4 of their mechs outta position. Game ending 45 seconds really, for secure win. Of course half the team sat back and left the front runners to die (after I died pushing in a 30% EBJ with one leg lol). So all 9 mechs got slaughtered one by one.

We were about 6-7 kills down, people hitting the big red panic button.

I told them to chill with me, don't get excited and let me do my thing... We won, just. 5 kills in the dying 3mins for me against people that were trading with me, and well outside their range.

So yeah... Frustrating (almost rant for me too), cause even if you try to call it. PUGs tend not to listen. I mean I should've called from the start, only started half way in once our team became confused, but meh.

That said it was a LRM fest on both sides. I would say out of the 96 mechs used, 48 were LRM boating. Just ugh of a game.

Or .................... two of your team mates are perma-dead after two waves with a total damage of less than 100. Another hasn't bothered to play and is sitting AFK, and you have just been outgunned by sheer weight of numbers as your team disintegrates around you on their way to another 48-13 defeat.

Somewhere along the lines you need to look around you, at your team of skittles (three of whom are tagged) and wonder what the guy in the LRM locust (currently pounding the closed turret) over the gate your team is trying to sneak to, is doing clicking the FW button at all.

I know what I'm getting into dropping FW solo, as do you, so I like to set my own targets ............... but man there are some proper numpties playing on the IS side.
