Well, does it deliver?

Most dakka we could possibly have so far before the Bane.

Try it for yourself and decide.

Ok then, I actually like the DWF-UV. The potential for 8 ballistic hard points is unique. You can probably get a good idea of the viability of the build in question be running 6 cUAC2s on a DWF-B. Two more cUAC2s probably won't dramatically improve the build, but it will make it run hotter.

8 x CLB2XAC = 0 GH.

W/ 2DHS = 42% HE

8 ballistics locked behind paywall... a trend I hope MWO deviates away from.

I use the 7 Clan AC/2 loadout extensively nowadays.

I used to run 8x of the Clan AC/2 because they get the heat reduction (unlike CUAC/2) and they have no cone of fire (unlike LBX/2). They also have a 900m range by default, so the CAC/2 works best for me despite the 3rd critical slot. Problem was that 12 tons of ammo was not enough and I ran out all the time.

Now I run 7x Clan AC/2, 15 tons ammo, CAP, and a TC mk.II. It is one hell of a hoot. Best match so far was 8 kills 4 assists, and most damage output was 1530-ish. I solo Kodiaks with it.

It runs hot as hell from my experience playing on a friend's PC, and it doesn't have the sheer melting power the double gauss 2 lpl + 4 medium laser build has, but the DPS is absolutely insane.

If you're using UAC/2, then you're doing it wrong.

CAC/2 generate 25% less heat. So for the same number of heatsinks you get to fire much longer before getting hot. It melts them faster than it melts you.

C-ACs aren't even real weapons.

Ssshhhh.

The CAC/2 is actually fun when boated en masse. 5 tons, 900m range, same heat/damage ratio as 5 and 10 class ACs. 2000m/s projectiles with practically no bullet drop.

Boating CAC/2 on my Direwolf has been horrendously fun.

I kind of hate facing against that build, i've played with Ukku who constantly i meet as a Direwolf UV, he wrecks the battlefield every time. Awesome as such a build is, i wish he'd use something else cause it's not fun anymore. xD

I prefer using Ultra Violence as quad LB10s, an SRM6 and 4 ERSL. Apparently you can kill two locusts simultaneously with it that way... as the two who tried running past me learned the hard way.

8xCUAC2 has no GH as well.

No, but 40 tons of UACs doesn't leave much weight left for more DHS, and double tapping 8 at a time quickly overcomes the total capacity of the 15 built into a DWF.

That's why you macro for ultimate dakka spew. Why double tap when you could just be a chaingun?

Except you don't have to double tap all the time (especially at long range, as it eats up ammo), only when a kill or component destruction is certain. Heck, I rate even regular CAC2 higher than LBX2. PPFLD is what matters.

YOU don't have to but invariably that's what 99% of players do with the things. Myself, I'd rather the weapons with the higher damage to heat ratios.
