There are several things that strike me as "not right" about TAG.
1. Multiple ECMs block TAG -> that makes no sense
2. TAG can tell you the mech state -> that also makes no sense
3. TAG will not work under Radar Jammer -> WTF? so we are also blind under the radar jammer?
Now when TAG was put in, there was only one sensor type.
But now we have UAVs.
I propose the TAG should work like a UAV instead:
1. 1 target only
2. Ignores ALL ECM effects
3. Does NOT show mech status, just letter and targeting reticule - Like UAV
4. Not affected by Radar Jammer (but only for mech doing the TAG)
5. LRM/Streak lock under ECM should work for a target YOU are using TAG on. - because ECM should not be wiping your internal electronics, otherwise you'd just use it to shut the enemy mechs down.

I find this puzzling.
1. Yes, TAG should break through any number of ECMs, doesn't it already? (I thought it did, but then, I didn't count the ecm carrying mechs when I used it).
2. Afaik, TAG doesn't specifically tell you target info. Locking on gets you the info, not tag? Though TAG might speed the process up (in which case, there is no reason for it to do that, as you say).
3. This one I know for certain, I've played a TAG mech on escort, and can confidently state that mechs under the jammer still got the TAG'd icon when I hit them with it.
So, I think things are a bit unclear on exactly how TAG is working, especially on escort missions. Let's get a definitive statement on how is is supposed to work and how it is observed to work before we move forward.

#1 When I've tried it (which you can't always arrange, so it's been a few months), the presence of second ECM mech stops you using TAG on the first ECM mech.
#2 Yes, you have to lock a target to get info. My point is that locking a 'Mech via UAV targeting does NOT give you info, but locking it via TAG targeting DOES give you info.
#3 According to the release notes:

Radar Jammer breaks TAG Locks.
Oh. Reread your post. The Radar Jammer is in CW, I think the zones in Escort are regular ECM zones. Which means I might be able to test the ECM results more easily.
