There's a limit?

I understand fully if you are reporting someone for cheating. I have done that (only once) and found it best to go through support and provide as much evidence as possible. The result in my case was the player's account was terminated for cheating.

What I am talking about is behaviours that you find objectionable. I will report immediately anything racist. I just don't say anything about it.

I don't know the history behind you, and I definitely don't agree with anything that this thread might create in its inevitable death throws, but I will tell you one reason I personally mention if I'm reporting someone. It's purely asking people that haven't noticed the idiocy to report them as well. For instance, a Dire Wolf unloading an entire alphastrike into the leg of your Adder out of nowhere and leaving you high and dry on Polar Highlands. Because there's the slim possibility PGI will take a tiny bit more notice if multiple reports go off at the same time. Maybe.

So personal attacks aside, do you feel it is appropriate to tell people you are reporting them?

I am not lying. I believe what I am saying, be it the truth or otherwise. But to answer your question, I think it's silly to sit there and announce that you are reporting someone as if it should upset them.

While I'm not real big on the whole "holier than thou, I'm going to report you" disposition... I'm also not real high on folks who believe themselves to be above the fundamental expectations set forth by the TOC and hell, basic protocol of playing nice with others.

Bottom line... Don't be a douche. Posted Image

If somebody is doing something wrong they should be reported. If the individual does not think it is fair has no place in this equation. PGI will determine if something wrong was done and act accordingly.

The report is not the issue.

You really got to be a d*uche to have PGI do anything.

Ok. So I can accept that you have seen poor behaviour from me. Am going to attribute this to you recalling me disrupting the game by not participating and being a giant man-child about it. Perhaps I am splitting hairs on what the actual offense was. I do not recall you or having any interaction with you what so ever. Again, however it would be disingenuous on my part to not concede to you having some validity to your complaint.

I do appreciate you answering the question and although it is unlikely we are going to be friends, I can respect your opinion and think at least we have turned this back into a discussion rather than what I felt was something personal.

Well said. I am guilty of being somewhat douchey at times. Have no filter as me Mum always used to say.

You got me thinking though. It has actually been quite a while since I have seen an intentional team kill, or any serious infractions over chat. Outside of faction, I also have not heard any hackusations in a while. Guess we are really not doing too bad.

The only reply I can possibly give to this thread is:

Banzai!

I think that I can appreciate that. Perhaps in that instance letting others know is not a bad idea. It's the stuff that's on the line that seems off putting. Like a disconnect. There are definitely suspicious disconnects, and others that who knows. Those that scream immediately when someone disconnects to report them bug me.

Oh, and sheep. There's sheep on occasion as well.

Plenty of those around here too.

I will generally ask other players to report someone who deliberately TKs or wastes everyone's time shutting down and disconnecting.

I do so on the pragmatic basis that perhaps 23 similar reports may prod PGI to actually take action.

Yeah, I know, I'm an eternal optimist at heart.

This is what I hear when another player types over all chat that they are reporting someone for some perceived infraction.

It's like a child screaming, 'I'm telling'....

If you are eleven and playing this game, perhaps I am being too hard. To the alleged grown ups doing this, well. GTFU. You want to report someone, go ahead. If the action is really egregious, your best bet is to take a quick screen if you are not recording and contact support with as much info as possible. For crying out loud however, have some dignity and mental fortitude not to scream out like a child announcing your own righteousness to the other 23 players in the process.

I find it amusing when someone says I'm reporting so and so for non participation and AFking when the person in question has spent the entire match stationary with ZERO ping!

Hey dimwit the guy you want to report NEVER CONNECTED TO THE MATCH!

OP is spewing salt about people whining, while whining about that on the forums.
