Did you read the rest of the thread?

Nothing is ever set in stone. When deciding what is more economical, you also have to factor in what makes people want to play the game and stay as paying customers. If people find 8v8 more enjoyable for a variety of reasons (group queue more fun, individual player has more impact, TTK goes up, FPS goes up, matchmaker quality improves, etc) then it's possible that the extra server costs will be compensated for by having more happy players than you would otherwise.

Probably wishful thinking on my part. After all, they haven't changed MC prices since 2012 and mech packs are arguably more expensive than ever. They have their own way of looking at things.

I would like to see that as well. I think I have heard people say that it used to be the case but I am not sure.

Still though I do think that the stats would take a hit because a decent three man could definitely influence a lot of games. Would it also be limited to one group max per side? I'd like to see it but with how low the population is it might be hard.

I'd prefer just 2-mans personally, and limit it to AT LEAST 2 per team, with there never being a situation where one team has 2, but the other has none. But I hate the current group queue, so I'm apparently a minority here.

QP group queue is very feast or famine, I think it is more hardcore than CW groups myself. Guess it comes down to whiners whining and winners winning.

They tried that and people hated it and complained enough that the devs actually listened to the players and changed it to what we have now.

Nope, I started playing when there was no group queue at all, that meant groups playing against solo pugs, it was a lot less fun then. Hell when I started playing you couldnt have any more than a 4 man of your friends grouped up.

If the group queue is too hard, stay away, it is as simple as that. This is a PvP game after all.

So never attempt to play the game with a friend ever, because without a decent sized group or constant play, we'll get stomped much harder than if we ran solo. Got it. Gee, I wonder why I never thought of that.

I don't get how it's so hard to understand that someone might want to play in a 2-man group with a friend, especially a new player, and just have fun without running into the anti-fun unit brigades that are stomping around in group queue that are in constant communication with TS in mechs setup to work perfectly with each other.

Been and done it many a time Restolll, either with friends in the same room or over at comstar TS. Yet again, im sorry if you dont like it but this is a PvP game, cant handle the heat get out of the kitchen. Yes it does suck sometimes but it is the way of things.

Well I guess it is decided then? Give 2 man groups a choice which queue to drop into? Maybe email everyone that quit because playing with a friend was discouraged by some?

It's 4:40 AM, and if I try to make an actual response to another "git gud scrub" message like that, I'm going to start foaming at the mouth in rage. So I'm just going to go to sleep, and hopefully I'll be cooled off enough that I won't get myself banned by posting the response I want to send for that kind of thing right now.

Let the large group have their own queue no worries. Let 2 mans choose which queue to drop into maybe.

I wonder how group queue would do without 2 mans?

The game is done without solos everyone knows. Make it 12 mans only, this game wouldn't make it through the day. :)

Reading through this thread has literally made my hair stand... In a team-based, competitive PvP game coordinated teamwork is viewed as something objectionable, something that is ruining "fun" for the players? Guys, what the f**k is wrong with this picture? And if I may ask, what's the definition of "FUN" that is getting ruined by all those premades that you hate so much? Randomly shooting in all directions with an idiotic grin on your face, and making sure that you do not communicate, coordinate, or make any significant effort to actually win the match? If so, I'll be happy to join the "anti-fun" crowd...

How will group queue do without 2 mans forced to be in it and instead given a choice? Answer that, or shut up same with the rest of the really bads trying to force 12 mans on everyone.

It gets richer every time.

You know, Johnny, maybe you should look to yourself. Your main mech to drop in is a phoenix hawk-- nothing wrong with that, but it has much less firepower on average than many other mechs, not so great hitboxes, and it's a massive mech. To top it off, your aim isn't exactly the best and you do not unlock arms-- which is where the phoenix hawk shines. You also don't torso twist damage from lasers, from what I've spectated.

To round it out, you will claim a mech is "ignoring" damage when you are hitting an already destroyed side torso instead of the center torso from behind with a measly 22 damage shot (2lpl seems to be your preferred fit- please correct me if I'm wrong), so you are sometimes only doing 40% of your damage (22 * .4 = only 8.8 damage, which is not very much).
