I saw the new trailer for a new upcoming Alien movie. It looks really cool....that is to say blood splatting scary. No sign of the original heroine however. Still I am looking forward to seeing it, dropping popcorn all over the place when a good jump scare takes place.

Still my favorite might always be Aliens where the marines took the fight to the xenomorphs, and the queen make her first appearance.

I would say that, at a guess, Lily, is that your not a fan of the Alien saga?

What has that to do with my liking it or not? If you know some current movies, and their trailers, you can very much extremely closely see from this trailer what to expect from the upcoming movie. Thats not science, thats just movies of the current time.
Whta I don't like si the current way how nearly all movies are done, it's like a cloze where you just fill in some variables to change the viasual setup of the movie. And thats why most present movies are boring and extremely predictable made by the same scheme. And this movie won't differ much form it thats what the sae scheme trailer already reveals. Therefore I have no expectations from this movies ot be somewhat amazing, We will see aliens, and they will kill people and we will see some sex in the movie, because thats what the current scheme demans. Done.

Other than a few people getting used as hosts, and bursting apart is about all we can expect. As for anything else, I would not count on it. Scenes can be deleted, and they may not actually show anything, just a rouse to get a few more teenagers into the theater hoping in vain to see a little bit of wooo hooo.

IMO one thing that made the early aliens movies great was the claustrophobic feel of things. The narrow crawlspaces, narrow corridors, tight confined areas.

That was one good thing about alien resurrection. They managed to make things feel more claustrophobic by having a character confined in a wheelchair and by having that scene with the kitchen flooded with water.

Prometheus deviates from that & from a lot of things that made the original movies great.

I hope they do better with Covenant.
