Slow down on those large font garbage. It makes you look bad.

The normal ACs for Clans are technically place holders for the optional fire modes of the LBx ACs. They technically "don't exist" and are only there because of coding technical difficulties for variable mode ACs. You do know though that you can place a normal CUAC on your mech and just not double tap it, for the same affect as a normal AC. Then you retain the option to double tap, when it becomes necessary. And, I do believe CUACs also have few crit slots over their LB and normal counterparts...

Personally, if I'm changing out my UACs for anything, it would be for their LBx counterparts. Increased chance to crit and (last I recalled) a faster fire rate than normal ACs. The spread I find isn't too bad, especially if you get close to your target.

One last point I'd make would be, have you tried the CUACs since the change? If you haven't, than slow down on that kneejerk reaction and give it a test run. People are saying it affects single UAC build more than stacked UAC builds. Give it a try, and adjust accordingly.

modules going away soon anyway, so who cares? jeez.

edit: moreover, at most, modules change the range and/or cooldown by 10%. that's it. That's an awful fine line to draw between suck and awesome.

I wouldn't have said "bad coding", just they haven't done it yet.

The problem they are coming across for this issue is two fold, having a single weapon that can take different types of ammo and the ability to switch it, combined with balance issues.

Technically, the IS LBx10 is suppose to also have this option to switch between shotgun mode and normal AC mode. The LBx is a ton lighter than the standard AC10, so if it could change ammo types (beyond the difficulties of coding), it would render the normal AC10 obsolete and useless. Why would you ever take a normal AC ever again? Just take the LBx and load it with normal AC ammo for a ton lighter...

Plus, as Jingseng stated, all modules are being removed from the game with the new skill system coming out soon, planned for Feb.

As Tesunie stated, just single tap your UAC's and save the double tap for when you really need that extra damage. Be warned however, that ever since the nerf, the UAC's are a lot more unreliable. Yet, they're still a lot of fun to play around with.

Tesunie is also correct in that the nerf does negatively affect loadouts with a single UAC. Prior to the nerf, one of my favorite builds was a Hellbringer with 4 ER Mediums and a single UAC20 for that close in punch. Now with the increased jame chance and the longer cool down, I find that at very inopportune times, my UAC is no longer operable and I'm left with just mediums. Not fun. The effect isn't as noticably bad with more than one UAC, but do expect a lot of jams to happen.

Good luck with the UACS!

ACs look cooler and sound cooler. Oh and they run cooler for 10 and 20.

<.< Just saying there is a reason some prefer them.

Also.

All modules are getting removed (except consumables) in February.

With the exception of what Koniving mentioned above Clan normal AutoCannons are strictly inferior to Clan UACs, they cost a lot more, I think 50-75% more, use more crit slots, and do not have the double tap option, note you will only double tap with the increased jam chance if you tap the fire button, if you just hold down the fire button you will never double tap and therefore never jam

Also if PGI ever bother/work out how to get ammo switching LBX ACs to work the standard Clan ACs will transform into LBX ACs

corrected as per Konivings point, see below
