I know, I know. The Bushmaster has yet to be released. Yet we will be seeing it join us upon the battlefield in just a few days from now.

While I am looking forward to blasting my opponents from the cockpit of a Bushmaster, I would like to know your opinion of this Mech....how it might perform.

Speculation....good....bad.

Absolute garbage.

Love the Bushwacker though. Bummed out I have to wait for the C-Bill release.

EDIT: More specifically, I think it'll perform ok. Not great, not terrible. It'll mostly be running around with a mix of AC/10s, LB 10-Xs, and SRMs. Maybe the occasional AC/5 boat. Should be fun.

Hmm. The Bushmaster only weighs 10 tons and has no weapons, but it can carry a full infantry platoon at rather high speed. I guess my opinions of it must be determined by tactical context. I'm sure there are times when one would do better with a single loaded Bushmaster than with an entire Regimental Combat Team.

Going to assume you mean the Bushwacker.

My guess is that it's going to be like a heavier version of the Crab, just with different hardpoint options.

It is going to be at least decent--by IS standards.

I've long wanted to get one. Used the heck out of it in the mech commander games and it should be another fun ballistic and laser mix mech.It won't replace my K2 but might get to be my number two when I want daka and lasers.I'm just too poor atm for order it now or I'd have gotten it sooner rather than waiting till end of this year.

All of them have 1-2 CT Energy hard points. The BSW-HR has 3 LA Energy hard points, and the BSW-P2 has 2 RA Energy hard points.

EDIT: Hey, the BSW-S2 has two AMS hard points! So OP.

Need of Pew Pew!

Dakka might be doable. But I dislike SRMs.

So .... err most probably I will not get or like it.

The Bush might be the first Medium to give the Blackjack a run for its money running dakka+lasers. There is no other IS Medium that can do it with all high-mounts. The BSW-P2 and BSW-HR will be the first alternatives that can do Gauss-vomit; unfortunately, both are locked behind additional pay-walls.

Since it has an elongated torso, I wonder if it will be shorter than it's 55 ton contemporaries. Perhaps like a bigger Crab.

It will give the Nova a run for its money. In a drag race.

Hmmm, intradesting. 3x AC/5 w/ 150 rounds on an XL 280 in the BSW-X1? Most intradesting indeed.

There's also the 2xPPC + 1x (U)AC/5 or 1x AC/10 option for the BSW-P2.

Even more intradesting.

it needs to be a notch above all is mechs in its weight class. but i bet it will follow the design rule that most new is mechs seem to use:

MEDIOCRE!

rather than the design philosophy behind most clan mechs:

META!

is needs some meta too and i very much doubt the bushie will deliver.

I think I'm gonna start with 195 rounds on an XL 255... 150 caps the damage too low! 80 kph will be enough for a fire support mech... yeah I thought about the dual peep + AC version but you need the hero or the reinforcements for it... maybe I'll snag the hero if the quirks are okay and the hitboxes seem okay.

Dual 10s and some a couple MLs will be a good option too!
