LRM deployable Mines please.

They don't have to be large damage.. perhaps 1 damage per, but it could add some layers of tactics to game play. Skill tree, under Infowar, PGI could be add a skill tree dedicated to mine detection.

Just anything to mix this up a bit.

I want to see 'new things' in this game instead of MOAR MECH PACKS.

Enjoi

p.s. ( the idea came from reading Sarna.net about the Bushwacker. )

LBX ammo switching and the rest of the IS LBX and UAC line should have higher priority IMHO. Then they can work on switchable SRM/LRM ammo, and ATMs.

Ammo switching seems beyond the abilities of MWO, whether it be because of the engine or the code or the coders.

Even so, while I myself would be very interested in Thunder LRMS, it's a problematic weapon system, with very serious implications to the game when their included. How do you balance a weapon that allows almost absolute map control and focuses all of it's damage to the legs?

And, as RestosIII said, there's more pressing tech that needs to be looked at, like full armory parity between the IS and the Clans, crit splitting, IS omnimechs, and potentially figuring out how to balance and include ATMs and MRMs.

Technically PGI can just make a new weapon called Thunder LRM5/10/20/20 that only lays mines, since they can't code in select ammo. Much simpler solution. In MW4 there is already a weapon called Thunder LRM (this one acted more like ARROW IV) that is separate from regular LRM, so there is a precedent for lore skewing.

There could be serious issues with people laying down 80 mines in a volley. And multiply that by several mechs. I'd rather have inferno SRM's, myself. Limit it to SRM-2's, if need be, for balance issues.

Spamming is indeed an issue but that can be remedied partially through long cooldowns. Also, mines themselves can be destructible, and instead of 5/10/15/20 individual mines, the mines would come out in clusters of 5. So 4 mine cluster max per Thunder LRM20 volley. Of course, the mines should be slightly harder to spot, and will not show up on radar unless one equip BAP/CAP. Mech with BAP/CAP can detect them within 150 meter radius.

ah, mine gameplay...

Anyone played Battlefield 2? Where the snipers had claymores?

So. Much. Salt.

I doubt this would bring anything good to gameplay, given we don't have open maps but stupid lanes in most of the maps. People would fortify themselves somewhere on their base and we play a waiting game.

There are many new weapons and toys I really want, and while I loved to claymore my way back in BF2, mines are not on my list, at least not very high.

As long as the trigger requires 40 tons of pressure it should be okay.

And the 12man pugtards spamming mines. Think how much fun that will be in the derp QP queue! Mine FF will be hilarious to watch!

And "all of those 12 man premade"?!?!?!

Our last metric from PGI was that 12man premades made up 1% or less of the group population, events not withstanding.

So, your "all of those 12 man premades" hold as much fact or reality as anything that comes out of a Trumptards mouth, aka none.

Your boogieman does not exist and scapegoating groups/units that play in the queues primarily designed for them is laughable.

If it is anything that involves coding any thing new you bet pgi will screw it up and it will suck. At least they can copy-paste weapon stats for mech packs.
