3025

No Streaks, no Endo, no Ferro no DHS, no case, no ultra auto cannons, no pulse lasers, no extended range energy weapons, no AMS no C3 targeting systems in Regular units or merc's

In the time line of 3025 all these things are experimental rediscovered or being rediscovered lostech.

So I'm rather afraid your build is invalid, by quite away. The reason that ac5 fired and sounded like an ultra is because P.G.I are using the features of HBS's ac5 from their BattleTech game.

It's just too bad the MW5 AC5 doesn't actually fire multiple shots like the HBS AC5. ACs have always been rapid fire weapons in every other MW game, and it pisses me off to no end that IS ACs are single shot weapons in MWO.

Weird, I always thought it was cool how MWO ACs were single shot, like a gun, rather than a burst fire weapon. Especially because in MW4 they behaved really oddly.

The game runs until 3049, by which time all this tech is available.

Also not sure why people keep saying their borrowing HBS's autocannon mechanics. HBS is using stream fire, while the MW5: Merc trailer clearly had a single shot autocannon.

Also want to point out that in HBS Battletech the single shot vs stream fire mechanic has no impact on gameplay as you don't have to worry about aiming, its purely fluff, like it was in the books ;)

i dont think were getting a mech lab in mw5. i think russ was saying its going to emphasize stock builds primarily.

That is a medicore™ idea.

Okay. They're *finally* making a proper MechWarrior V, which this originally was supposed to be, and that's good I AM happy that PGI gets to make another MechWarrior title, their company would die without this, but if there's no customization or if there are new and exciting bad ideas? I can, will and be very loud in my opposition to them.

If you want to talk about TTK, the TTK for mechs in that game is far lower than MWO. You can one-shot heavy mechs in that game.

As it was a primarily single player game, I really don't care how fast a mech dies in MW4. MWO though, is a MP only game, so gameplay balance and TTK must be considered.

Just because its multiplayer doesn't mean TTK should be higher than it is, which is higher than any other MP shooter that I have played.

except dhs and endo didn't exist in 3015 :<

neither did the Raven.

that mech made it's debut during the fourth succession war.

Actually according to Sarna the Raven debuted in 3024, just before the end of the 3rd war, which would have been the prototype RVN-1X which was used only sparingly until sometime after 3028 and the discovery of the Helm Star League Library by the Gray Death Legion.

The technology unlocked by that discovery soon led to the RVN-3L, which is what House Liao had wanted the prototype Raven to be in the first place.

So we can reasonably assume that the Raven went through a prototype phase lasting at least 5-10 years, being one of the few completely brand new mech designs in centuries. Gotta make sure it works, right?

i totally get where you are coming from with the tt ruling, since i never played much tt since no one i knew played and i wasnt going to comic book stores, i only have the books i read to know lore, and the tech manuals.

i do remember that there were some technologies that were deemed "lostech" until grey death found the core with pristine mechs they hated losing (i about cried when i read that part seriously, i was a kid though) and that lostech was what i was knid of basing this build off of, not timeline, or yeah, i would need to go home and try again.

the reason i have some of the weapon systems like the mgun, it's for open armor crits to shave off parts of the mech, the lrms obviously for lobbing death over obstacles with SERIOUSLY fast lock times and high arch, the streaks so i can hit fast movers, the quirks for the lasers and the uac5 made it an obvious choice.

i dont know, i felt i had to justify why i built it all funky chicken out of time and why, because of the upcoming mechwarrior 5 game having a shadowhawk being the primary opening mech, which, i am hoping that we have quirks on the shadow hawk in the game, so i think ill end up buying each of the shadow hawks that are currently in mwomercs so i can see which ones have what quirks i would like to use....

i am gonna try that one out that has the ac10, i have to go through the replies to find it, but yeah, thank you for dropping that one in here for me to try out.

I actually just read Price of Glory again recently. And on page 318, the first page of the epilogue, the Gray Death Legion recovered 36 mechs, a full battalions worth.

Well, technically Duke Hassid Ricol recovered the mechs, since what was left of the Gray Death mech force at the time was busy bloodying the Marik forces, but he gave Grayson a share of the recovered Star League mechs, and they all proceeded to distribute the Star League library across the Inner Sphere.

I am using the 45 ton Phoenix hawk that is the size of an Atlas and Locusts run around the legs of like its an assault so fun load outs are my thing. :) I really like the Phoenix Hawk though, my favourite mech at the moment easily. Makes me look forward to the Valkyrie, Sting and Wasp even more.

I thought i would drop this in here, just for fun to see how many people will laugh and cry and maybe see who would consider it worth using..

i know it's NOT meta, and it's definitely not what other people do, but i found it quite fun, and it's a bit lore friendly for me anyways:

I will be _so_ very happy if this is true. The one problem I had with MW2: Mercs was the gunbag nature the ability to more or less freely customize gave the mechs.

I'd prefer the option, because you can always enforce your own "house rules" on how you have to play the game.
