Both of the following are world of tanks sponsored.

(^ slow mo footage from 4:20 to around 5:20 is the best part)

(World of Tanks also sponsored this guy ^ shooting his truck with a tank, running his truck over with a tank & finally blowing up what was left of his truck with c4)

Its too early to tell how effective (of ineffective) these types promos/sponsorships are.

Should PGI pursue these types of gimmicks?

What do ppl think?

If PGI gave me a fully functional Mad Cat MK2, AND cash, to destroy everything I own, I'd be fine with that deal. Where do I sign?

MWO is a niche game so I do not think the same tactic will apply.

I think WoT's marketing via gun ENTHUSIASTS is fine but not sure it would work out for PGI. Mostly because I imagine I spend more on food in a month than they spend on advertising. :)

It would work on me. The real issue though is finding a functional Urbanmech and/or King Crab.

So that's where all the money WG makes from gold shells go.

I expect that company to gross well over half a billion for 2016.

For MWO. Maybe they could get some hobby builders to make mechs from legos or something. Or knock off legos since that would probably get them in trouble. >_>

Did he change his YT Channel? I thought it was Rated RR or something.

I don't think the same can be applied to MWO, since Fictional Mechs =/= IRL Weapons/Tanks.
Though I could see THIS being a great potential

So what you're saying is... PGI is going to add aerotech?

Yes once there was a high performance shell for RL cash doing better penetration and damage than standard shells, but I thought they'd changed it to just make it very expensive for in game credits -or- spend RL cash.

It used to be a real money only shell, but years ago it transitioned to real money or in game credits.

They are absurdly expensive using in game currancy, so their usage is limited, but they kind of changed the balance of the game. I don't think anyone really buys them for real cash anymore, though. And anyone who does... well, with that kind of level of math skills and patience deficit, I'm sure they really do need a crutch.

I suppose he could drive the tank home.

Half mech with tank track, and two large autocannons was my main configuration for finishing that game. The dispersion of the autocannons vary upon the legs you fit into your AC mech. The autocannons have tremendous DPS but great dispersion if you are using humanoid legs, a little less if you switch to reverse jointed legs, less even more if you switch to quadrupeds, but the least if you put tank threads due to the stability of the tank platform.

Pretty sure people still buy it. Even if you use silvers for the premium ammo, they cost so much it necessitates a premium account, premium tanks, if you don't already have a very large reserve of silvers. Adding a silver purchase ability does not change that it costs you something to get it, since time and energy also has a real world money value. Just like you don't purchase EVE ships with real money, but the time it takes to grind for them can be translated to man hour costs, and some of them are literally in the hundreds if not thousands of dollars, while the more common ones are more like in the $10s or $20s or $50s in real world costs.

Nah. Custom built cockpits. People in bt seem to love creating custom human shaped caskets for their comps.
