If you consider mist lynx I would advise trying kit fox first. Now that machine guns are decent enough you can do pretty dangerous builds in it even without purifier omnipods. It's basically either 4 machineguns and 4 energy weapons or 4 MG + 3 energy + ecm. In maps with vertical movement it's very deadly.

Don't let the slow speed to fool you, kit fox is nowadays very strong against other lights if build right and it's strong carrion eater so just wait for a moment and go eat some tasty mech guts.

You should really avoid the panthers if you think the jenny 2cs are bad. They have horrible engine cap,big as hell, and most of their firepower is in the arm. Lose that arm and you're just a moving weaponless bulls-eye. Sure it has a missile or two in the ct but it only lets you do srm2,srm 4s or lrm 5,10.

Out of is mechs I'd say choose between locust which is is light mech no one for now, the ravens for the 3l with ecm,the raven 4x for big ac up to ac 20, or the wolfhound. The wolf is pretty tank-y even with xl and you can mirror the ach spl build with six spls or 2mpls then four spls. Aim for legs and the wolf is a very good anti-ach light hunter-killer.

If you do go for the panthers avoid the 10-p as it only has ballistics in the arm and a missile in the ct. If you wanted to really troll with it you can mount guass with xl 200 and two dhs. Sadly it has the biggest engine cap of the panthers while the rest are at or near 250.
