Clan society is disgusting. Say goodbye to personal property, art and literacy. Not only are they grave threat to the flawed great houses of the Inner Sphere but they are an existential threat to those who are truly free...the periphery realms.

Centuries later Sparta was a tourist location for vacating Romans who viewed the locals as rustic simpletons. Rome also a military powerhouse contributed much, much more to overall civilization. Much of which remains with us to this day.

Wolf-in-Exile basically faded away, Ghost Bear culturally assimilated with space Vikings and Nova Cat was exterminated. That which remained does not present an appealing role play aspect to me.


Finally there is no such thing as a Clan merc. Bandit caste were shot on sight.

until they address the core mechanic issues to TTK, etc, in this game, I see no reason to even try. But since Russ still steadfastly refuses to believe things like perfect aim/convergence are remotely an issue, and ignore things like a meaningful and impactful heatscale BEFORE shutdown.... I see no reason to hope.

@Bishop: I explained that. Those that are good either went extinct or partially assimilated. In my opinion they lost much of what was Clan about them.

I know you hate Dark Age but the Wolf Empire was setup by the Crusaders, the expelled Warden faction of Wolf never amounted to anything. I found them the more noble faction. Diamond Sharks are barely Clan, they come across as Lyrans who are militarily competent.

The Khan of Steel Viper was certifiably insane. The Wars of Reaving were a massive unnecessary bloodbath.

War of Reaving was a half *** cop out way to reset the clans, to go with the hurried, unfinished nonsense of the Jihad for the IS.

It's not that I hate Dark Age, but that I hate the halfassed, forced, and fake feel of the entire setting, as a result of Fasa trying to close doors, multiple IP owners since, all with different ideas, and the reams of pointless unneeded retcons, instead of simply fleshing out the mid 3060s through to Grey Monday without using every tired trope and shortcut in the book.
