So, which is it, because it can't be both.

Either MWO's population is too small to allow players to have checkbox blacklists on game modes and the Steam Chart numbers aren't lying / the population really has taken a serious hit..

..or MWO's population is just fine and we should allow checkbox blacklists on game modes because this is a well populated, thriving game in the prime of its life.

It's better to use the voting system IMO, so it's fair and square hence you have the multiplier if your choice of map/mode did not get picked rather than picking just "skirmish" all day long or whatever your favourtie mode is..

Ironically, you'd think more people would choose dom... It encourages brawling; you know where the enemy is going to be, no nascaring; it's still just skirmish unless the very last person on your team retreats, in which case you already lost anyway. It's skirmish without the scouting or hunting (which, by and large, seems to be what QP pugs want).

That said, I kinda agree =p Unless I hate everyone, then i just keep voting caustic/therma dom =p

I don't know if this was said before. But, what if we could have the game mode check boxes back, but only be able to uncheck one mode?

Get rid of all modes in solo-q except Conquest and Domination, and then you can have your choice back. Skirmish and Assault are just inferior versions of Conquest. Escort in solo-q is just dumb experience.

That's...not bad. I like it. I could uncheck assault and trust everyone else to cancel escort and I'd be happy. :)

Conquest is my favorite game mode on all the maps except Grim Plexus, because theta is in the middle of a bowl of doom and the map is so ****ing huge so all the other points are like 15 grids away from each other

You can take the gamble of setting up for a poke match and hope you win trades fast enough that getting behind on caps won't matter

You can take the gamble of doing a hard lockdown on the caps and then playing passively, only to perhaps not hold out long enough

You can do a hard rush and brawl and hope you don't come out on the bottom of it and lose by caps

You can take a medium ground where your snipers choose a good perch, the lights focus on caps, and the brawlers find good ambush spots for anyone that tries to back cap/take theta positions

I feel it promotes the most gameplay choices and almost every build has a purpose whereas skirmish and assault are just nascar nascar nascar or poke poke poke with extremely little middle ground Posted Image

I don't think it would work.

Any extra constraints on the MM means longer wait times regardless of the desired outcome.

Is that what you'd be willing to trade, especially in non-peak US hours?

Love the idea.

In current QP modes do not matter, sadly. More often then not, people choose to play a Mode, ie Dumbination, and just play skirmish and loose. Usually, they choose a mode and just play skirmish, badly.

I would very much like to play on Caustic and Terra Therma sometime.

Since they were redesigned, I have gotten to play on Caustic a grand total of three times. Therma *once*. Whereas last night alone, I was forced to play on Polar Highlands _eight times_. In a row...

I would welcome entirely random map/mode with joy in my heart. The current method is ridiculously broken.

I love all modes actually, but Escort, and all maps, but Polar Highlands. And Escort I still can stand, but that stupid map, I can't, and usually just skip it or suicide out.

Well if they had check boxes back you could just check the ones you want to play and skip the rest Kshahdoo.

OMG I know what you mean when its POLAR HIGHLANDS NIGHT and it seems like every fool in MWO is trolling that map. Most of the time it ends up Conquest mode polar highlands and I get stuck in a Assault and ambushed by mediums or lights trying to make my way to the next beacon.

Now I just go to the nearest beacon and defend it if I'm in a assault and get stuck with conquest.

RANDOM MAP ROTATIONS WOULD BE BETTER!!!!! PGI.

P.S And please PGI just rename the old maps put them back into map rotation as well just get out your little map crayons and color the landscape different.

I like the voting because the two things I hate (polar and escort) are much rarer in this system than they would be randomly. As well I like conquest and don't think that many others do, so I at least get it when people are bored or enough of us have farmed their mulitiplier.

Basically I am getting what I want so I absolutely don't want to see it changed.

That would be true, except for the fact that MWO is full of extremely very special snowflakes who resent being forced to do anything, and Domination forces them to go into that circle.

Random is what would be fair. Voting is just frustrating.

I never saw any improvement in wait times when they implemented voting, but I did have a less enjoyable gaming experience after voting was added. Normally I am pretty sympathetic to other peoples problems, but if voting in this game has taught me anything it is that I just don't care anymore about what others want. So as someone that normally plays in US peak time and refuses to select anything other than N.American server after they added voting I absolutely would trade longer wait times for me to be able to avoid skirmish forever. That being said at this point it would be better if it was just all random all the time as a form of compromise. For me voting has been and continues to be one of the worst things they ever added to this game, and all of the problems I knew it would cause have happened(same damn maps again and again and again etc.).

Voting is a useful tool to avoid bad maps and, to a lesser degree, bad game modes. If PGI were to make every map and mode good, then I would be fine with random.
