Anyway im looking over the Pouncer as a Possible Up and Coming Omni for MWO,
as it Fills the Clan 40Ton Slot, as well as gives options as an Over Weight Adder,

=FupDups Chart=

A-STs + D-Arms = 10Energy
B-Arms + D-STs = 3Energy 4Missile,

so if PGI announced the Pouncer, would you Buy it?

Thoughts, Comments, Concerns?
Thanks,

Better weight than the Cougar that keeps getting proposed. Not sure why people keep suggesting Puma V2.

Mad Dog Arms,
Nova/Stromcrow Legs
Adder Torsos
Ebon Jaguar CT
Timberwolf Cockpit
Hellbringer Cockpit (Upside Down)

Did I guess the correct components?
Nice looking mech I must say.

It seems to have a lot of symmetric builds and can mount 11 energy.
I'd prefer if they make all pods exactly symmetric though, It'll be a smaller more agile nova.
Also I think it needs ECM or at least 2 AMS. Shadowcat did take the 45 ton point, so we need one in the 40 ton category.

Honestly, the Pouncer is just an Adder but with JJ's. Aka probably the best performer I'd ever get in this game, considering the one thing I'm good at piloting is the Adder.

So yes, to the OP, I would buy it.

Yah, see, that's another difference. At least it's in another weight bracket and has a different movement profile. While the Cougar is just a slightly slower, slightly harder hitting Puma that's had it's hood loped off.

Granted, if it where my faction, I'd be bucking for something a little more unique, but if it were between the two...

My main problem with the Cougar is that the only variant that has JJs uses out-of-game tech. Pouncer doesn't have that problem.

I'd buy it with C-Bills and use it as a 5 ton heavier LRM Adder, or even as a poptart. Works like a charm in some CW maps. Posted Image

well the Cougar is a 3058 Mech(5ish years off) where as the Pouncer is a 3050Mech,
its also a better Adder, thats just barely a Medium,

everything Correct but it has no TBR Parts,
we have a 40Tonner, the VPR but thats more as Speed Mech like the IFR,
this would be more between SCR/NVA in play style, fast as a SCR but JJ like a NVA,
doesnt really need ECM, as the SHC has and works as the Clan Medium ECM mech,

where as the Pouncer isnt, and its can Run lots of Builds, SRM Brawler, Energy Brawler, LPL +ERSLs

Why is it's left arm just kind of flopping around at it's side, instead of aiming forward?

Multi-tasking, duh. Cool guys always fire at multiple targets at once, especially when the targets are off screen.

The Pouncer is not a larger Adder.

Aesthetically, and by lore? Sure. That is only skin deep, however. But using your brain cells to look at its available omnipods and the hardwired equipment? No. It is not a larger Adder. It is a lighter Nova. Or perhaps a Clan Blackjack. A Novack?

Up to 11 Energy Hard Points, comes with jump jets and two external DHS, moves as fast as the Stormcrow, and packs a pod space comparable to the Nova. It could do 10 SPLas with sufficient cooling. It could go with a bigger ballistic and a couple smaller lasers if it wanted to. Even has missile options available. It's a pretty well rounded heavy hitter for its weight bracket, though being 40-tons it is going to be squishy. Might be a solid pick for CW Scouting Mode, however, or for CW in general as a decent 40-ton pick for doing more than just flying and running.

So, yes. I would buy it.

The fact that it has a 2x LRM 15 + 4 ERMLas lore build makes me giddy. Same with the 6 ERMLas + 2 SSRM's build.

Yes, I do judge a mech by how good it's lore builds will be. Sue me.

AMS it is. I think it'll have durability issues though, 40 tons with really flat and wide torso hitboxes. However if that 5 ton jump barely increased the volume due to the arms and legs, It will probably cancel out and turn out more or less the same with the Adder.

I think the go to build would be either mass ERSLs or 4SRM6s + Flamer/ERSL.
Probably could do SRM poptart really well.

I know the Nova Cats have a significant merchant caste, but I think suing things is still more your Clan's territory. :P

It's not like I was trying to bait anyone into suing me so I could get a tidy profit from a counter suit, no sir.

And at 40 tons, no less.

Where's that thread where they said Clan mechs weren't able to carry the weapons payload of Inner Sphere mechs 62.5% heavier then them?

Because the Cougar is cool looking (and I'm ok with that). The Pouncer just looks weird. It actually looks like a rejected prototype of a Cougar. The MWO art rework version looks ok though (if not too close to it's source).

Hey, it's pretty much the same reason people want the Wasp and Stinger. Those mechs wouldn't be any good either in MWO, but people like them and want them anyway.

As I see it, If it is wrong to want the Cougar, it is wrong to want the Stinger and Wasp too.
