Two fold question: If I were charged with Protecting my VIP and instead killed him, what's the penalty?

Also, If ALL my teammates agreed to it and I killed the VIP with their 'OK' despite the penalty, cause they all dislike the mode too, while this constitute a loss, will it adversely affect my K/D ratio?

How are you planning on tracking the fact that your entire team was okay with an instant loss? (Which I would not be, btw.)

I realize that some folks dislike escort, but it comes up. Everybody has their least favorite mission type; many do not like conquest, I personally dislike domination (lots of bad team experiences there).
Displaying what seems to be such poor sportsmanship just because of the mission type? Bad precedent, at the very least. I know it would be infuriating if I got into a conquest match and the DWRs and AS7s on the team just gave up because they were too slow and it wasn't their choice to play.

There are several other threads talking about how to do well in escorts. I would hope poor escort experiences are a major part of why you even brought this up, and that those might help you to at least tolerate the mode, without this team sabotaging behavior.

You damn well know the answers to both of those. Yes, it will effect your W/L, yes it is actively losing the match for your team so you'll be punished, and no, you're never going to get a match where everyone will agree to end it like that. You're essentially ruining the match for 23 other people because you're a baby that can't deal with a different playstyle.

LOL. I just did! Ended a match with the whole lance shot at the VIP!!! LOL. The WHOLE team agreed to it.
Also, please don't assume I can't deal with a different playstyle.
You know what they say about people who ***ume.
I was just curious to see what the penalty was - like a time out for 5 minutes?
Is it worse than an accidental teamkill?
To the pilot who got the penalty in my game, if you read this - pls share.

I hate this game mode too but I wouldn't wish for this to happen. If you could realistically get 23 other people's permission to do it then maybe it would be ok.

Just bear in mind, some people have to wait till 10 minutes just to even launch into a game. I couldn't care less what map/mode I am playing as long as I get to play.

Really. If I'm escorting the VIP and my team chooses to destroy the VIP, the opposing team has no say. They'll just have to take the win. But you're right. People do wait a while for the game. As stated above I'm just really curious.

If you call for a VIP kill, then you had best get the kill, otherwise if you make that call, and another players gets the kill shot, then gets banned, after multiple reports of douche bag like play go in to PGI, then that makes you a (insert here) X11

Wasting everyone's time by ruining a match for both teams isn't right. Someone not typing might be because they find your request of shooting the Atlas to be rightfully idiotic and assuming you're not going to do it, or they might not even speak English. Oh, and yes, the other team DOES matter. Getting terrible rewards equal to most matches loss after waiting to get into a match and dropping would be infuriating. If I see you ever doing that in my matches, dear lord I'm reporting you, and hope you get banned for it.

Hey, if you want to be reported for Aiding the Enemy and Greifing...

Some douche did that yesterday. It was weird because my attacking team was Down 2-11 and we were certain the game was a loss, then we got a sudden victory... Turns out someone on the defending team killed the VIP as they were hunting my last living teammate.

His teammates were not happy.

And, I don't care how you feel about the game mode or what team you are on. I will report any defender who kills or maims the VIP on purpose.

I very much enjoy escort mode. The best advice i can give you is to suck it up and play it. I HATE conquest and i have to play it often doesnt mean im going to screw over my team by powering down and going afk.

I despise the current assault mode. I play it anyway. I will report anyone doing this. As someone said above, your just being a baby. also thanks for the forum thread stating you will do this. I will be sure to include it in the report.

You look at it as a game mode you don't like and are not good at and want to end ASAP

OR

Look at it as an opertunity to overcome a weakness in your play style and comfort zone.

For example....I really don't like a few maps for thier failings in layout and design. Sadly these same failings make them popular with a majority of other players.

While I am sick of knowing exactally where the enemy contact will be and exactally what grid points I will be moving through and fire from and into in every single match in every game mode (except an occational Escort) every time I play Crimson Straight I still play my best on that map.

When I am sick of seeing HPG again and sick of knowing that 80% of that map is utterly worthless 90% of the time I still play my best. I still play it as it's done every single time 50% NASCAR 50% King of the Hill in the same 3 grids every time.
