Did not want to hijack a discussion so started this one.

PEOPLE, fight "recently" imposed internet data usage caps by internet providers. Go file a complaint @ consumer protection web site. Don't let them get their foot in the door!

Obviously media companies are losing revenue from the decrease in landline phone use and the decline of cable. Home broadband data caps (not the old ones that were always there, the new ones - on the average user) are a rip-off.

These duopolies don't want to innovate, so they are trying to milk the cow. Make them innovate.

Wrong forum to post this in, despite agreeing with the overall position.

There's really no reason why they are doing it, other than $$$.

unfortunately the incoming regulatory folks (in the U.S.) are unlikely to support any regulation of service providers

best of luck though; hopefully you live in an area with enough providers that you can shop around

My ISP had put a cap on 200 gigs of data per month. Used to be enough but then wife was seduced by Netflix. Posted Image

It is just another TAX. Robbery in plain sight.
