I have three Adder builds to post, so I am going to attempt to get them into separate posts.

The first one I'd like to suggest is a 4 SRM4 and an ERLL build.

I feel this build is effective for a new player because it is heavily focused on close range fire power with the SRMs, without being only close range, as it has a back up ERLL for longer range opening moves of a match. This lets a player determine their attack ranges, and close in for the kill when they feel that they need to or can.

The second build I'd like to submit is the exact same as the first one, but instead of SRMs (which have better control on where the damage can go and better DPS, but requires aim), this one has SSRMs. It's less effective, but maintains it's ability to control it's engagement ranges and can be useful at nearly any range. The SSRMs are only to help in the case of aim, as SRMs can sometimes be harder to use for a new player.

I honestly do not recommend this build due to the spread of SSRMs, but it may be considered more new player friendly than the other build I've submitted.

The final build I'm suggesting for Champion status is a fun Dakka build, with 2 UAC2s and 3 ERSLs.

This build presents the experience of ballistics on a mech, and it can be effective at almost any range. If the fight lasts long enough and the ammo runs out, there are always 3 ERSL to continue the fight with. Even then, it can easily handle the heat of both the UACs and the lasers shooting at the same time if a target is close enough for them to hit. The lasers also come in handy if the UACs jam when up close in a desperate fight.

I've personally had a lot of fun with this build, and it's become my default Adder to play with now. My only concern is how well UACs and new players would mesh, but I imagine it would be effective still as long as they are throwing lead down the lane. And with UAC2s streaming the firepower, they can "tracer round" their shots into their target, making corrections to aiming easier.

Standard mlas laser vomit, but with full actuators in both arms to facilitate better tracking.

I have personally ran a similar build on my Adder Prime and on the Kit Fox Purifier, except I use 2 ermls instead. Lots of fun!

BlackAdder - ADR-B

My Black Adder build. Forgoes the Set of 8 bonus to use a D model right arm for its extra armor/structure bonuses to what is basically an empty shield arm anyway. LB-10X w/3 tons of ammo and 3 SPL need only 2 fire groups. Max sustained DPS 5.40 with a 54% cooling efficiency puts it ahead of that LB20 adder on the first page. Shoots much further with its shotgun and carries 600 damage of ammo (vs 420 for that LB20 version), and the clan SPLs are the very peak of damage/heat/duration efficiency for clan energy weapons. 1 extra DHS, and the armor is maxed everywhere except the right arm which relies more on its bonuses. Rear torso armor strong enough to survive a IS MPL / Clan SPL.

Best. Light. Ever. 1x CUAC 10, 2x smpls lasers. Ultimate. What other than the Urbie can do this?

Also, 4x SRM six and 1 LRGlaser. Still the best.

Gauss Rifle + 3 ERML. The Gauss has 10% cooldown reduction due to quirks, which syncs it pretty nicely with the ERML's. It's a good poking build from range that utilizes the Adder's quirks and packs a lot of power for a light.

Oh please, Dakka Kitfox - UAC10 (3.5t ammo) + 2x ERML, High-mounted, and has JJ. -- Yes it's not an adder, but i have to make a point.

4 SERL + 1 UAC/20. Best short range puncher. If was removed quickly, it will break through even the toughest armor.
