Buuld 1: Mid-range fire support.
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...8d67c3a8ffb3a85
Alternative build. Less raw power, but more heat efficient and has the benefits of a TC1

Build 2: "Hellbrawler"
Close-range in-fighter. New players may struggle with positioning (and impatience) but the ECM should help.

A simple change from my first decent CW Loki, I swapped SRM 6 with artemis for lrm 10s as a straight trade. Then a simple transmutation of Heatsinks into ammo filled the torso with enough spam to keep a new player entertained. A two button set up this mech was a monster for me, and as much as I wanted to include the SRM version, I feel the new player deserves at least one decent Long Range Missile mech.
6x Medium Lasers
2x Lrm 10
1x Ecm
20 heat sinks.

New players should love being able to fire repeatedly and veteran players will enjoy being able to properly shield side and put out rapid alphas. You also get 2 arm mounted lasers for UAV removal.

Its just a dark deep hole for any that venture close, as well as a great support the team centerpiece for quick play. Both lower arm actuators for maximum torso twisting and arm tracking training. 3 MGs and 2 SPL and a Streak-6 to deal with lights. 3 MPLs will rip chunks out of larger prey. ECM and AMS for covering the user and the team. 18 total DHS for a 8.11 Max Sustained DPS and 43% cooling efficiency. Active probe to increase sensor range, detect shutdown mechs, and speed up targetting data and help with missile locks at a greater distance for team mates. A TC1 boosts the zoom, sensor range, target info gathering, laser ranges and best of all increases the crit chances for the lasers. Both sensors equipment items being useful to a new player and to encourage them to learn to hit the R key instinctively. Nearly maxed armor as well and enough over the rear torsos to survive a PPC hit.

This build is sooooooo good it is a mech that cores out ct's of assaults and then finishes them off.

The torso armor's more front loaded than I myself would typically run, 21DHS, TC3, only 2 ERPPCs (two fire groups, left torso and right torso...your hand becomes the chain fire option), ECM, AMS w/2 tons (because teams group up around the guy with the AMS/ECM, your ammo goes away quickly as they draw fire), skinny little empty arms with the lower actuators installed for the unlocked torso twisters.

All prime omnipods for small XP bonus, ECM, 3xER-L, no armor on hands. And AMS with 1 ton of ammo and TC1.
I haven't played this version myself a lot, I have 4 ER-L with less armor in head and specially legs. The reason for only 3 ER-L is I figure many newbies don't seem to know about ghost heat so when all fired at same time, it won't cause that much extra heat and thus it's easier to handle.

The SPL in the LA proves to be effective if it comes to an infight. It runs quite cool and can deliver its damage precisely. No Gauss mechanics, no jamming and you're done with three weapon groups which makes it easier for inexperienced players.
And for God's sake, no one EVER needs another brain dead Gauss-Lazor-65to-Champion.
