Match Making Q And Tiers

We've been hearing a couple reports here and there about high tier players getting matched up with or against lower tier players and wanted to let you guys know what's up.
We do currently have it set that Tier 1 players and Tier 4 players can get matched together, however we've just recently reduced it (upon receiving these reports), to now taking 4.5 minutes before this can happen.
We've done this so that the wait times to get a match is not too long but you should be getting more balanced matches now compared to the last few days.
Let us know if the Matchmaker feels better!

Edit: I take it back, I didn't need to mull over it long, I have something that sums up how I feel about T1's and T4's ever facing each other.

PS: I was looking at your signature like, "whoa that's really cool" and then after a moment I was thinking that the shark looks like it's swimming backwards due to the back text rotation!

And honestly, I'm glad we know that it does allow it after X amount of time, just so we can keep track of how MM works. Because until now, we had no clue how stuff worked without hunting down people and asking their tiers after matches, or recognizing folks. All the transparency we can get is good in my book for figuring the system out. Really do appreciate it.

The time should be altered to something lower, like two minutes.

My suspicion is it happened at low population times.

How exactly does one prove that another player is tier 5? There are a lot of reasons why players could do low damage, including getting headshot early in a game or poor positioning causing them to die in a light really fast.

Ahh I thought it may have been something from last couple days but it's possible that it was adjusted at that time for something else too, though I can't recall such circumstances that we would but since we are able to switch it around without patches or hot-fixes it may have been modified a few times since.
As long as no one is experiencing it and reporting it right now is the main thing but of course we'll keep an eye!

Unfortunately Tiers are considered as personal account information so we do not force nor reveal player's tiers publicly unless they choose to, like for example how you can right here on the forums.
