I never had any success story with energy+dakka builds where both the dakka and energy weapons as the main damage dealers.

They have different playstyles and doing both usually means that you are almost in the verge of overheating.

To be honest one of my favourite clan builds at the moment is paired UAC10 with paired PPCs. Its a fun 70 damage snap shottable 'alpha' with much higher dps than the gauss version, albeit with worse pinpoint.

I think we will be getting two of the old style 'Light, Medium, Heavy, Assault'. One for Clan, one for IS, but with the reinforcements and hero addons we are now used to.

My guesses would be;

Clan
Cougar
Black Lanner
Novacat
MKII

IS
Owens
Hellspawn
Black Hawk KU or Avatar
Sunder

If it would end up as shown on the designs up ^ , this would just not be a good MWO mech... Most of the hardpoints are low, barring the 2 ballistics on top, and those hitboxes... where to start, CT-able from every angle , really easy "dragon-like" shoot-able side torsos and the problem of ridge peekeing, ei. like the ebon jag. they can see your top, and shoot it, before you can see them.

All iin all, it's a good TT design, good weapon placement and all, but the geometry kills it here, and doing what would be needed to fix it would make it in to some other mech...

That first one is not "the classic" but rather the model from MechAssault 2.

Don't forget that mounts higher than the cockpit deson't give any meaningful advantage unless when you are using 3PV.

Mounting GRs on ST also risk the chance of losing your arms when they go boom. On the other hand, Blood Asp's ST mounted Gauss permits tighter convergence which is useful like when you are leading the shots.

Speaking about the arms, there's a bit vertical gap between the arm mounted lasers and the high mounted ST Gauss on the Blood Asp which is not a good thing.

Not is the arm mounted Gauss on the Mk II a real blessing, as they are in a perfect spot to shield the St's yet contain your primary weapon systems...

Safer to have a GR go boom in your arm than in a ST >.> Its one or the other. I prefer GR in the arms though on all my mechs, ability to aim better, and safer due to crit padding as well.

Eww, yes

First, we have a Dire Wolf with omnipods Arms- B and W; Torsos (R/LT). . .other wise, the 6 Gun UAC/2

Second Ultraviolet. . . The 8 gun UAC/2

and soon , the Blood Asp. . . the Mack Daddy that'll make you jump with it's 10 gun UAC/2

Throw in the Macro, and we've got a party.

Nope. Late 3050's. Heavy Large Laser was 3059.

I stand to correct myself, at best the Blood Asp will have no less than 5 Ballistic Hard Points: Arms C Variant - 1 each, RT D: 3, LT All variants, only 1.

So at best we could face a 5 UAC/10 build.

I can Haz Heavy Lasers. Boy I can't wait, both the Heavy Lasers and ATM's will open up the H and E Variants of some of my favorite Mechs.

Even if they can't switch the modes, the ATM is still viable. By choosing the Ammo you want yourself. One could choose an ER Missile Boat that could reach as far as 1300 meters! Maybe even further than that! Who knows how far.

And I know that the HE version of Missiles is going to put SRMs and A-SRM's to shame.

Honestly, you know what I really, really hope the IS finally gets, that I'm almost sure they won't get? Inferno SRMs. I'd also be fine with them getting the most evil device known to mankind: Inferno LRMs.

So depending on which year in 3060 we'll be in we're going to have either just the Heavy Large Laser or the whole trio of them? You know, this made me just realize something that I'm going to point out in a new topic.

Er, no. I went and checked to make sure, ALL of the Heavy Laser line came out in 3059.
