First off, I'm using one of my alt accounts so as to avoid all the in game abuse and forum trolling, so too bad for anyone ready with the reflex one liners! Posted Image

So I have been playing a ton of MWO since those great Christmas enticements, I've been playing for many years and I'm pretty impressed with the new mechs, the quirks, the maps, escort, etc... all of it has been great. I've got a dandy stable of IS and Clan mechs and I enjoy dropping for both sides. While I can see a slant towards Clan in community warfare I'm not seeing it as a problem in QP matches at all. And even in CW matches the slant toward Clan isn't terrible at all, but it is there and I can see how PGI is continually trying to find the magic formula to get the balance right. Last note about this, the slant is mostly prevalent in the invasion gun mode. In all the others; skirmish, assault, etc... it just enough to make it spicy and fun.

Now on the battle field I have spotted dropmates using cheats about two dozen times in the last month. Even though I am always there as a guest I will still ask them about it, and among dropmates the silence is deafening and quickly followed by a switch to TS and then a united front. Or in some cases, a nudge and a wink comment and some joking around.

But when someone on the other side notices that they have been cored with one shot at 1300mtrs and has the nerve to say anything or ask what's going on the teams with cheaters on them invariably ATTACK THE COMMENTOR BRUTALLY AND REFLEXIVELY in chat mocking them with all the usual 'git gud' nonsense but also quickly run up the passive aggressive 'oh yeah I'm haxing' in an effort to make the others look stupid and head off comments. Yet when that happens on a clean drop group there isn't any of the flashback at the guy, instead good clean shooters take it as a compliment, and keep playing without trolling the guy. I'm amazed by this, it's such a consistent response difference between the clean and not so clean companies and drop groups.

PGI, I love you guys, I love the game, please do what you can to root the cheating out of CW this year, please! nevermind the impact it has on the games (big) pay attention to the way it's becoming a cancer in the community and see how it threatens the very fibre of growing faction warfare.

Thanks for listening.

Hacking is not "rampant" in any part of the game I've seen - you're likely looking at the Dunning-Kruger effect in action. Screen shot, or it didn't happen.

Do you expect me to engage with that straw man? Proof up, or shut up. No matter how many paragraphs you spend doing it, unsubstantiated claims are unsubstantiated.

Honestly, that's who I'm assuming owns this alt. It's the right typing style for him as well.

Since all of those suggestions are also straw men, by way of begging the question, no, I do not. Unsubstantiated claims are unsubstantiated.

Hm. Admitted alt account. Doesn't provide proof until it's pointed out to him and then has to reach all the way back to April 2015. Insists everyone else must agree with his basic premise without proof because 'its obvious.' Types a big, almost unreadable brick.

Yah. No.

Here's the thing - Everyone knows cheating is possible. There isn't an online game in existence you can't game to some extent. There's a difference, however, between cheating being possible (Of course it is), and it being rampant, which you have not demonstrated to any real degree.

people call everything cheating nowadays. even i was accused of cheating once. and i am far from a top tier player.
it just shows that depending on the skill level of the one doing the accusations, alot of things that look normal for others seem like cheating.

btw: im the type of player that will crush your run and shred your grimmoire in vermintide the second you start exploiting. that doesnt mean that i am easy to convince that someone is actually cheating. i am very certain that i did not encounter a single cheater in this game yet. and while i am not playing as often anymore as i used to 6 month ago, i do play maybe every 2 days. if cheating was as common as people made it out to be, i would have been encountering obvious cheaters at least a few times by now.
cheating may be happening, i do not doubt that actually, but it is far from common enough to be an actual problem.

Shouldn't it actually be "/follow" since the "/" usually ends the case?

i dont think a screenshot or even a video is enough proof. you need to consult the broader scope of their backlogged stats. at some point they will have a massive surge in ability overnight and no explination. normally as you climb the learning curve, your scores go up gradually. but if you jump from mediocre to god of the battlefield in a short time, something fishy is going on. then you start looking at their report history and watching what they are doing in game (im pretty sure pgi has the ability to spectate matches). when they have enough proof, then they issue a ban.

ive only maybe 2 or 3 times saw behavior which i would call cheating. one guy with 20+ kills in fp seemed fishy, i didnt report but he was on that first banwave where they published the names. the second was a few days ago, where i got not once but twice core shot in a light mech, at over 900 meters, with a gauss rifle, while i was moving perpendicular to the shot at around 130 kph. id expect somone with good aim to hit me twice in a row with a deflection shot like that, but not in the same section. we lost that game but i dont think one cheater was the cause (potatoes everywhere). if you think somone is cheating, the best thing you can do is try to get the whole team to focus him down.

wtf, reading the comments, and now people are interested in fallacies, and the naming of such?

compared to some of the illogical crap i have heard in the last week, this topic seems more plausible, but you OP, your gonna need evidence. Don't be to hard on yourself for that, that's something people demand yet don't really do themselves.

I got called an aimbotter the other day because I came around the corner on a Marauder IIC and put an AC/20 into his cockpit by sheer luck, which turned it bright red, and then I raked my lasers over his cockpit to finish the job. I laughed.

Everyone wants proof.
But will promptly dismiss as anything but.
Like the the what I like to call the "strategic lag shielder."
They won't do it the whole match only at strategic moments.
Like the point blank AC20 shots I put into the Hellbringer last night.
Yeah I know hit reg blah blah.
Post proof here why bother.
