Ammunition explosion to 100%
Fill in the complete Ammo Dump Mechanic of Battletech. (like jettision on a key or button)
no weapon left ammo dump
and all to prevent ammo explosion on heat as example

All Mechwarrior games before had it, so it's easily possible.

Afterwards:
Set the Ammunition Values (Ammo/ton) close x2, like Armor increase on x2 and x3 for head.
And let the player decide, which ammo slot is used first, at least which pattern of use is best, set by player

Low priority + requires adding new code to Crytek, a dying engine and company.

I only remember it in MW3. I'm pretty sure MW4 didn't have it? Dunno about MW2 or MW1.

@FupDup: MW2 had it. I have my original 1995 manual in front of me. It was default mapped to the K button.

in mw3 it was the shift+k button
perhaps it was not in mw4 (in mw4 was ammo part of the weapon, if i remember right), but mw4 was far not as good as mw2 or mw3 were

MW4 didn't need it because ammo never exploded in MW4.

Don't even recall it in MW3, but it definitely existed in MW2.

In MW3, losing a side torso (regardless of IS or Clan) didn't actually lose components (with the exception of the arm - you'd lose everything there as you'd expect). Pirate's Moon (the MW3 expansion) didn't keep to that behavior (you lost everything on the side torso+arm).

Ammo explosion kills are pretty satisfying--too bad it happens only on rare occasions. I wouldn't mind more ammo explosions, despite the fact I use dakka, and missiles a lot.

I could stand behind this.

I think there should be a warning and a variable amount of time before the explosion actually occurs.
The popcorn effect of old is a good example.
Alternatively, start taking some damage immediately as part of the warning and be able to jettison it before it 'all blows' in order to avoid full damage.

Preferable if the jettison ammo key will only jettison ammo actively preparing to and/or exploding instead of all the ammo.

Even at 100%, ammo rarely is destroyed through crits with sufficient crit padding; the only real dangers most of us would face would be those of us foolish enough to store it in our legs.

In MechWarrior 3 There was a definite hotkey for it, though, like you said, you didn't lose anything except what was in there, but PM's mechanic was different.
