I wish there was a mech factory and subway system option. But I like the poll and I hope we get an urban map this year.

It looks like there is a clear bias towards an urban map, and that seems awesome. My personal recommendation would be to base the map on an interchange where two major highways come together. You would have dense urban corridors down low and elevated highways and ramps and cloverleafs above, with some of the buildings popping up above the freeways. Such a map would have a great 3-dimensional quality to it.

I chose natural because there are so many alien already.
I think my most wanted map is desert dunes because it would be so different even if it is not my favourite all the time after a while.
Second most wanted would be a tunnel complex map.
Third would be giant metropolis. Or maybe this would be first, but the game already has some city like maps.

Maps. . . BIG maps, not knife fight in an elevator type terrains.
A real urban map would be good. But something similar could be achieved with a forested environment with huge trees some areas could be dark and gloomy others more open light infused glades,
Thinking Wookie homeworld type there for scale.
A rolling African savanah landscape with tall abrupt kopjes for cover.
An open cast mine system perhaps with bucket wheel excavators and industrial processing installations.
Tropical shallow water lagoon with rocky islets systems.
Just a few things that sprung to mind quickly. Others may occur after a trip to the outhouse.
Underground cavern, stalactites, stalacmites waterfalls, rivers, lakes. Dark and cold with nooks and crannies and tunnels.

How about a map that favors brawlers instead of this?

As I was reading I had this entire conversation in my head....
The problem is that without getting rid of map voting (Which we should), hot maps quickly fade to obscurity. How often does Terra Therma pop?
Might as well go for a new map type (Urban) and hope the playerbase likes it enough to introduce some variety into our lives.
Also, the new Terra Therma is the newest (public queue) map, so the next one should avoid being a cauldron probably for the sake of variety.
TT isn't just hot, it's also dark (bad visibility) and has the lava pits (massive heat spikes) which also contribute to lack of favorability. I've not played it enough to know what "the meta" is, but it does still appear to be dominated by One Central Feature--in this case an impassible 4-block mountain rather than the caldera.
Caustic and Tourmaline are hotter maps, but are substantially more popular than TT, and I'd venture that has as much to do with temperature as their better visibility.
---
my survey answers were basically "ALL THE THINGS--MOAR MAPS PLS!!!" But in general I just vote for more openness. Give us sporadic cover so the people who don't know how to deal with LRMs will be quiet, but I'm tired of maps where 2/3 of the grids aren't played because of the One Central Feature making it tactically infeasible to go there (looking at you Forest Colony).
I dislike predictability in games. It was my biggest complaint about old Frozen City. Not that it was brawly or cramped, but that the action almost always took place in C3.

No hot map option? Sick of short TTK? Your answer is hot maps. Sick of 9000 dmg alphas over and over? You answer is hot maps. Pilot a light mech? Hot maps are your friend. While the big guys are over heating from too many alphas you can get in and do some real work and get out again before they come back online.

i would love to see some hot urban map
a setting like terra terma just with many skyscrapers some map more for brawling less range
story behind it would be easy too vulcano errupted city died and became a battlefield

Or its a desert city? Maybe not so much skyscrapers but more bunker like structures cause of high heat and winds. Think Twycoss is like that.
