If you could replace all the game modes in quick play would you? Would you pick and choose which one you want to replace? Would you just get rid of them all? If so what would you replace them with? Is it the maps that get paired with the game modes that cause them to be horrible?


Talk constructively please, and please pictures or drawings of map design ideas or game mode designs appreciated.

I actually enjoy every game mode. Not a huge fan of Conquest or Domination on certain maps, but I enjoy them. So I honestly don't care if I can choose them or not, but you always have to think about the fact that I don't think our game populations is enough to allow us to lock out game modes on a per-person basis currently.. Now, I do still wish maps were random.

I would replace Skirmish Mode with 'Not Skirmish Mode.'

I would rip escort so quickly from this game it isn't funny. Luckily it is so horrible that it is almost never voted for so I only am forced to play it every couple of days or so. The really unfortunate part though is that it is unlikely PGI will admit how big of a failure it is and pull it from rotation. Just as they are content to leave lights largely irrelevant by being so over sized.

For solo-queue I will leave only Conquest and Domination, and trash the rest. Conquest is the least sucky form of Skirmish, and Domination offers something different, so those two should stay. Escort should burn in hell, cause solo-puggers have no idea how to play it.

I would simply make people play conquest more so they learn more about the maps they are on.

Tired of seeing teams hole up in the E6 kill box in tourmaline and the opposing side push up the death valley in a lousy attempt top flank them.. both are incredibly dumb strategies but they are the quick play skirmish and domination norm for the map Posted Image

With the way the match maker limits maps for escort ( never see it on HPG ) could we eliminate maps and modes that do not work together as a fix?

Second part to the certain maps and modes would be to place some obstacles ( like the ecm or turrets maybe a wall or two) and modify the drop points for a fix for assault ( red team all drops behind a wall [palace gates MW4] blue team gets a spread drop and mission goals are simple take the base. defending team doesn't have to nascar (they chose to scout on own) balance to the defenders having turrets and ecm and walls would be a multiple path of attack (placement of red teams base and drop points would be the key factor in this )

Replace Skirmish with something like Rush from Bad Company/Bad Company 2.
We need more asymmetrical gameplay and less arena like pew pews

I would add Freeze Tag and Duck Duck Goose to the rotation.

I would keep skirmish, but rename it Dodge Ball

I would get rid of Domination

we have these big nice maps and all we do is run to the center

no tactics it just sucks

I would burn skirmish to ground and piss on its ashes. Everything else is fine.

pgi is keeping assault in addition to incursion. this doesnt make any sense really. assault is one of the weakest modes in the game. i was glad when pgi put counter attack out of its misery and replaced it with skirmish proper and i was hoping that assault would share the same fate. the whole reason for incursion was because assault is and always was a weak mode.

I would nuke Assault from orbit and give Skirmish a timer that if a side has one mech left and the other side has three or more and the one mech goes a minute without doing damage, the match ends and he counts as destroyed.

My jury is still out on Escort.

I would collect data on least used modes , made them playable in stock only and check if pop likes it.

Yep, because thinking about objectives is apparently too hard for people and they'd rather just shoot and do damage. Only they suck at that too.

I like all the modes although I do not see the point of having a mode called Skirmish when every mode is Skirmish most of the time.


What I do not like is that we have a reward system and PSR system that only rewards Skirmish and not the objectives of any other mode. That really needs to be fixed and IMO is more important than adding or removing modes from QP. Fix that and every mode will immediately be better.
