Its a meme on my channel that I am obsessed with the Cicada.
To continue with the meme, ima use this sale to buy and better equip a Cicada.

Which should I get though? I already got the 3C

The 3M seems the most immediately interesting. With the 3C, poke + reposition repeatedly with a Heavy PPC until I can get in close and finish someone off with 4 hmgs.
With the 3M, I think I could get a similar result with Heavy PPC + 3 sml pulse + hmg while ALSO having ECM, and still have -15% cooldown to go with it.
The 2a and 2b are similar in terms of wanting to be various forms of laser vomit, but the 2A is build more for 6 mlas XL while I feel the other is 5 mpulse light engine
the 3F will be similar to the 3M, its just a question of weather the JJs are more useful for the poking + twist of the knife playstyle than ECM.

The cicada I run most often is an escort for assault mechs. 3M with ECM, 2LL, 2ML, provides ECM to whales without, shoots what they shoot, keeps the fleas off of them. It’s also good with a single UAC/5 and 4 ML

From my XP Cicada isn't really durable knife fighter, too... large so takes dmg and dies fast.

Cicada 3M. Cicada is in no way, shape, or form a knife fighter.

Strap ECM and some long range weapons and poke, poke, poke.

If the 3m had jj it would be one of my favorite mechs. I still like it though and the ac changes made it a bit better.

This is what I am running now and it works great as a skirmisher. A bit too slow to easily flank and not get run down but you should be sticking with the group more or less in it.

I wish it got an ammo amount quirk as that would help a bunch on fittings and allow you to use the uac5 and some lppc.

cda-3m 1 Less DHS, stripped some semiuseless armor (Cicadas "arms" are so small that they don't tank well) and added +24kph?

I tried mechlabbing this Yesterday and didn't find nice way to put that UAC5 and LPPCs in it and scrapped the build.
cda-3m No ECM cause... well no tons or slots... and slow.
cda-3m with ECM, but stupid slow.

6erml CDA-2A is a wonderful skirmisher.

Its also a pretty decent at close range poker 6 medium pulse but It suffers on cooling.

I like the one with JJ's as well. Dual ERPPC's+JJ's is pretty fun. I also run it with 2 lpl's+2ERML's. (easier to hit for those that are not a crack shot with ERPPPC's)

I ran the 3m for a long time with 4 ML's+UAC5, but these days i think there are other mechs that do that better. the 3M or the one with JJ's, ERPPC's are the better build IMO.

that said i have seen a few very talented people run a single light gauss and do amazing with it. Stealth and racking up 600+ damage, but i think unless your awesome with a LG, then you will do terrible in it. I think i'd have trouble getting 100 damage in that build, but if it works for ya why not?

Its fast enough to keep ahead of the circle jerk and I prefer the extra cooling. I could have shaved off some arm armor but even with tiny arm they still soak up some splash damage as you twist. As to the lppc fit thats why I was wanting some ammo quirks to save some tons and slots so you could wedge in some lppc. I really wish they would cut a slot off lppc as it would make fitting them so much easier on lights and mediums.
