Most likely the connection to the server, If there is an outage which has happened it gets posted quickly. Also there are 3 servers--you might want to select just the one with the best ping for your location. I'm in the US and I can play on the European server but sometimes I get enough lag the game doesn't flow. I've also heard of ISP routing things all over the planet to make it to the North American server.
Another possibility is the PC itself--my old PC would play the game, but I was under the minimum recommended and I had issues loading into the match frequently.

I'd say connection as well
Sometimes my router flakes out and rebooting it fixes my connection issues.
Also I noticed at when I changed ISP's from Optus to Internode my connection issues stopped
some ISP's have poor peering with PGI's ISP.
Since some people are unaffected its most likely something on your end.
Use a web site like www.pingtest.net to check your connection to Canada, I use Ontario Canada to test it
If your Jitter is more than say 5 ms, then your connection is not that stable and MWO dont like High Jitter
Jitter is change of ping, a stable ping (low Jitter) is best

Contact support, Send a DXdiag along with it, and ask them if there is anything you can do. Perhaps they will have you run a line trace. It may take a few days to get back to you but as much as people bash PGI, i have never heard of anyone giving them crap about support.. they are top notch, even if it can take a few days
technical@mwomercs.com
Give them details about what happens, and include the DXDIAG
