This is probably going to be an unpopular suggestion, but I thought I'd share it anyways and see how the rest of the player-base feels about this topic.

I think it would be interesting to remove the automatic target-sharing between mechs and limit it to lances, while letting mechs with command consoles connect lances to basically establish the current status-quo.

That way units have to rely more on communication, scouting and calling become more important, teamwork within lances is encouraged, it's harder for LRM-boats to piggyback on the rest of the team and there'd be an actual reason to take command consoles.

I think it would add quite a bit of depth to the gameplay.

I totally agree that the information warfare side of things is extremely lacking, though I wouldn't want to change much about existing targeting as it can already be overwhelming. Maybe a compromise such as a "radio range" like in World of Tanks?

I'd be especially in favor of additional features added to modules, especially command consoles. Things like...

Toggleable status board of lance/company mechs

and visual overlays on enemy mechs showing weak points (Clan Tech?)

Yea, the more info the better. It will help gameplay on all levels dramatically. However it needs to be added.
