ammo explosion? ))
how, if i can't have anyone, any, anywhere? ))
you can say - dos'nt matter, you're already dead...
but - if it's game error, bug or etc, - it WILL be finded and it WILL be used to cheat.

Ammo explosion used to damage nearby mechs, I believe. Used to be joke commandos running around filled with mg ammo for laughs.

For quite a while a guass rifle explosion had the Ammo explosion message even though that didn't happen. (Not sure this was ever fixed). My best guess is that your engine destroyed notice somehow made the ammo explosion note script activate and show up in error. I will have to keep an eye on my next deaths and see if any engine destroyed deaths give me an ammo explosion message when I have no ammo.

In short, I would suspect that the ammo explosion message is a coding error from something else - not that you had non existant ammo explode and kill your mech.

This is the second thread you've appeared with tonight that has been complaining of mysterious death bugs that seem to effect nobody else but you. I'm convinced this is user error. Without more information I don't know how to help you.

EDIT: Somehow missed the second link that showed your build. If that's the build you were using then I have no idea how that could have happened. It's never happened to me before.

I think there may be a error/death message bug... probably due to the ECM removal. That's only my guess (because, PGI).

Maybe the ECM popping counted as an explosion?

Either that, or the armor is so thin the enemy fire went through your armor, through your internal structure, and all the way back into your MechLab to hit one of your mechs that does have ammo.

Ammo is easy to deal with.

What you need is to do some crit stuffing.

Basically, each item takes one or more slots also called "crits."

Fill the slots, it's very hard for damage to focus on the smaller things like ammo.
So
For our first example lets say you have 1 ton of ammunition in the right torso and nothing else. Bam, someone hit your structure. They rolled a crit. There's a 100% chance it'll be your ammo. KABOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well that just sucks, doesn't it?
Example 2. You have 1 ton of ammo in the right torso + 3 DHS.
Bam, they hit your structure. Oh they scored a crit. There's now a 10% chance they will hit your ammo. BAM! There goes a heatsink! You've alive!
Oh wait, another crit! There's a 14.28% chance they'll get your ammo. Bam! Another heatsink; you're still alive!
Yet another crit! There's a 25% chance they'll get your ammo. BAM! Yet another heatsink and you're still -- oh wait, you lost the torso due to damage but NEVER blew up due to ammo.

Huh.

Don't complain about mysterious deaths if you are going to run around with a terribly underarmored and undergunned and underupgraded build.

It's not a good sign when my lore builds are better than his build. It's REALLY not a good sign.

It can't be as bad as MechAssault "lore" builds. Hellbringers with 2 LRM launchers, 2 gauss rifles, some kind of flame rocket weapon thing, and jumpjets? K.

If you're mad about the lava gun I'd hate to see how you feel about my MechAssault inspired timber wolf. PPC arms on it really are quite dreadful though and SRM + PPC is an awkward mix. But at least I've got 3 backup MGs.

The TBR-D config makes PPC's+SRMs fine in my book. But I'll insist on them being SSRMs.
