It's most noticeable on the mechs that can't take more than a couple UACs

Every mech with double 5s or 10s seems to have them jam at the same time almost exclusively

Enforcers, Huntsman, Bushwacker, Whammy (when I feel like going slow as **** and not exploding instantly-- bite me), etc

Is it intended or a bug? I think the only time I have seen one jam on its own as of late was when it was within a separate weapon group

I think it's just bad luck on your part. It's completely random for me. But I also don't use UAC's much any more after they nerfed the crap out of them, so I dunno.

I've had them jam separate all the time.

The difference is that its a lot more noticeable when they both jam, all the bullets stop lol.

RNG ftl.

I believe it just feels like this, the odds of jamming are working correctly. I did some testing of my own maybe 5 months ago unless something has changed.

Unless you watch a video you can't really tell when one jams if you alpha them all. It isn't until they stop firing do you really notice.

I put in a bug report with video evidence a while back that UAC10s are NOTORIOUS for this.
Here is the video, ignore the audio because I didn't use OBS for this despite the fact I should have (luckily you don't hear me arguing with Ghozzt).

I probably will record some more tests but it does seem only to be related to UAC10s. Both UAC2s and UAC5s I did not notice this issue. This is also before the last balance pass on UACs.

First test: dual uac5s. Ammo was completely repeated then refreshed for a second test run

Firing was ceased immediately upon a jam

Single jams total: 49

Double jams: 92

Seems a bit disproportionate but single jams do happen.. iunno. Maybe PGI is just trolling us in realtime-- they were changing the VIP's armor in real time, why not this? :P

In all seriousness I am really tired and don't want to sit shooting snow for the next hour-- I'd rather take a nap. I'll do double UAC10s next, later today

I also noticed UAC's with any kind of ballistic cooldown quirks on the mechs jam more often than mech without them, or at least they seem to work that way with me.

Jam % chance quirks don't help too much with PGI's RNG, random is still random.

Damn RNG, it's why I stopped playing Destiny and Borderlands.

Only ever noticed it on the Enforcer 5P wherein when they jammed, you were truly SOL since you had a single ML (at most) as back up.
And then they nerffed it, and said with apparent sincerity, that it was performing above its target values.
Gimmie a break.

I may just be imagining this, but for me UACs seem to work a lot better if I stagger the double taps by >0,5 sec, just like I would do with boated weapons that generate ghost heat. Jams seem to occur a lot less that way, while double tapping in rapid succession feels like leading to jams 90% of the time.

I have a mouse that sometimez double clicks with a single click. UAcS jam WAY more often using it than not. They should make double tap chamce only count once and have it the same chance no matter how mny times its clicked.

OTHERWISE I LOVE THE WAY UACS WORK FONT MAKE IT A "SKILL" BASED Thing

I still say we need a UAC heatup, just like flamers use, where the more they're used the higher % they will jam goes up, and then cools down after a period of time.

Finding a balance for DPS vs regular AC's will be tricky.

The most annoying part of the UAC jam mechanic on the other side of this, which is a completely separate issue is once the jam has cleared (after X amount of time) you're still waiting additional time for the weapon cooldown on top of that time before you can fire again, which seems to be IMO poorly designed, and that additional cooldown after clearing a jam should either be removed of be part of the UN-Jam timer so you actually know how long you have until you can fire again.

Um UAC jam is not as random as you think. You can double tap them indefinitely as long as you time it just right. Its when you dont hit that tiny window, then the jam chance kicks in and becomes random. Look at infamous MonPax, he has a IS UAC5 macro designed to combat the jam rate, he rarely ever jams.

However i have noticed that if you start putting on more than 1 UAC of any size, if you dont hit that window, you jam WAAAAY more often, and all weapons will jam at the same time.

I love macros especially in games where they are allowed.

The jam mechanic was increased and my macros no longer circumvented 80+% of the jam chance, but the new mechanic still makes my macro at 1/2 the cooldown still jam way less than manually hitting the "fire" button twice within the cooldown.
