To start with an example, the Set of 8 gives quirks if the omnipods are stock, that they are the right pieces altogether.

But what if, certain weapons, or certain mechs give and take away quirks based on some sort of condition.

What if the Gauss Rifle has x3 of it's optimal range as maximum range when only 1 weapon system is loaded, but only 2x of it's optimal range when a mech has 2. etc. etc.

What if the Heavy Gauss Rifle would have negative torso pitch quirk if its equipped?

TBR has +armor quirks when torso is equipped with massive ears?

tl;dr -- maybe equipments and weapons provide quirks, and or certain combination will produce a negative or positive quirk.

Seems like a lot of people are campaigning for quirks, even as we all await the death of quirks.

Weird.

Anyway, equipment quirks would have been neat. Bit late now, though.

That would require coding and we all know that is Lostech.

PGI will soon learn how much the game depends on quirks for balance...

The only way to avoid a balance fiasco with the great Unquirkening is if the IS gets a better skill tree than the clans.

Improvement in the conditional quirks would actually help in a sense.

For example, the CERPPC quirk that Summoner's have... if that was ONLY applied to the arm that the omnipod was in, then there would be less of a benefit to run it (dual PPCs Summoners would still be popular, but it wouldn't benefit in the same way).

It would change the meta, but not break it. On the other hand, it wouldn't make a lot of the Clan Battlemechs worse, just omnimechs (HBK-IIC-A would still be superior, probably by a larger margin than the Nova-A that runs 2 PPCs on its arms as a consequence).

I prefer hardpoint specific quirks, as I believe it is the most accurate of the bunch.

I also want sized hardpoints. Posted Image

I would support it if done in a logical way.
Just had a convo the other day bout this.
We were talking about jam chance quirks being reduced the more you boat UACs.
