I had a game where I went with a partner and capped 5 points in conquest while the rest of our team deathballed. In the end, my team died, but we won on caps. Our match score was in the 30s. There should probably be a hyperbolic curve on match score the more points you cap. As it stands now, there is very little incentive to do the right thing and help your team win. People are always asking lights to go cap, which basically scrap their game.

Thoughts?

There definitely needs to be rewards for completing the objectives in a match. The benefits would be twofold. It would make modes mean something and it would reward the Light pilots and give them a meaningful role at which they can excel.

In addition, rewards for Scouting, Flanking, Spotting, UAV deployment, UAV kills, AMS missile kills and providing ECM coverage to teammates should all be rewarded at a much higher rate than they currently are.

I rarely pilot lights but, for me, higher rewards for capping would be advantageous in the sense that it would break up the deathball in conquest matches. I love the games, rare as they may be, where both teams cap and you end with small groups engaging each other all over the map. 2v2/3v3 fights are a great change of pace.

Additionally that is, supossedly, the objective. It should probably pay a little more than it currently does.

Capping and NARCing both need massive reward boosts.

YUP! Completely agree!

Tis why everyone always does the skirmish type game play in every match. No point to actually completing the objectives. Reminds of the time the team asked someone to hop on the enemy teams base and start capping it to try and split them. I volunteered and was there so long that I nearly capped the base to win it. (No one else came over to help, mind you) One enemy straggler came my way nearly dead to try and do something. I killed'em but barely did any damage to him or in that match. Match score was terrible because I didn't hardly shoot anyone... You know I only participated in doing PGI's stupid objective. Thanks for nothing!

If that were to happen the best part about it is I thoroughly enjoy piloting my light mechs and I'd say on average I can score just about as well as using a heavy or assault with them. I generally feel like I actually do more for the team with my light than anything else, from scouting, objectives (if there is one), damage, UAV etc.

Sole reason I always pick conquest when it pops up is with the hope that the match will go differently than deathballing/skirmish mode. I too love the smaller battles.
