I have played this game a good while, and after which, wanted to make a suggestion based on the experiences of the game played so far. And the frustrations experienced that I think could be (part way resolved)
Staged Tonnage in FW
There only seems to be one drop weight, for all game modes over-all both in QP and FW.
In FW - Could, or would it be better to start a FW tonnage at a low level and the more the stages progress the tonnage increases to the current max?
Example
Stage 1 – 250, Skirmishes (Invasion group landing on the beaches…)
Stage 2 – 350, Conquest
Stage 3 – 450 , Assault
Stage 4 – 600, Domination
Stage 5 – Escort, defeated side escorts the VIP commander off-planet?
This tonnage format I remember from leagues back in Mech Commander Planetary seasons.
If the forces are repelled, the invasion the tonnage and stages go backwards, and the campaign continues
This would mix up the chassis, tactics and see some under used mech class groups not being used as much (rather than having the typical Assault and Heavy bias matches), and give the FW a better Role Play simulation of direction & progression.
You’ve done it with Scout FW, there’s nothing for the middle for Medium to Heavy.
FW gives you the ability to swap your pre-set drop deck’s for a particular map, yes we only get 2 free. And have to MC the other 2.
So I don’t know if you are able to allow a readjustment to a deck once the stage has moved on/progressed manually. Or how that would work.. I put that to you developers..
In QP - Could a particular game mode utilise a lower drop weight for Conquest Vs Assault, Skirmish Escort & Domination, would it be so hard to have a FW type selection of mechs for Quick Play of varied weight? preselected before launching.
