Will they keep single color scheme? Will the metallic burn mark be stronger?

Or is it going to be one of those "we didn't do much, but just enough change so that you stop complaining about it" change?

Share your thought!

So, reviving this thread because...

I am not quite sure if the change is really what I am looking for...

Like, I want the metallic burn effect to be stronger and gradient throughout the WHOLE mech. The point was never whether the burn mark can be color-changed. Now, it's just like a goofy color rings.

Not quite sure if this is really what people asked for...

At least they unlocked all the color channels.

Well, I never thought single color channel is bad per se, as long as the effect is applied well. Like, what you've done for example, does that look like burn effect?

Or a bad 5th grader's art project?

I think the burn effect looks worse now. I had to use the unlocked color channels to try and make it look like it originally did.

I think it should be noted that the Scorch "paint job" is actually supposed to be just heat-treated metal... So keep it in metallic tones and see how it looks. I would expect it to look awkward if you treat it like there is paint.

I purposely chose weird colors to show all 3 channels were unlocked. I'd never run it like that, lol

Looks like a low rider pick up with a really bad fade paintjob.

So ugly...

Yeah, see above. Scorch is not supposed to be painted. It's supposed to be heat-treated metal, like the effect you get around welds.

The color is better, but the texture effect is still disappointing. I will take it though, at least they made it better I guess.

It looks like sh*t.

They should have remade it from scratch because a polished t*rd will always be a t*rd.

Because you can change the color of the heat treatment?

Honestly, PGI only needed to do one thing, apply the heat treatment to extend the length of a mech's body like in the promo art.

Oh and... actually get the heat treatment coloring right.

Think...

What would a yellow pipe look like when exposed to heat on one end?
What would a blue pipe look like when exposed to heat on one end?
What would a black pipe look like when exposed to heat on one end?

That is LITERALLY all they need to do. Like for the love of god, take a torch and experiment for 20 minutes, and they will understand. Cause right now, if you change the mech color, making your body yellow, blue, green, whatever, note how the "burnt" ring doesn't change because they decide to just unlock that color channel to you? So now, rather than "scorch", it's ****** ovals.

(O and the effect going to at least half of the mech body thing, did I mention that already?)

PGI's refusal to give adequate fixes and only appease people on the surface (since apparently some people are happy with PGI not giving you a real "scorch" effect, but a lame unlock of 3 color channels) really shake my confidence with the upcoming release of Supernova.

If PGI wants to sell Supernova ultimate pack... and really, that's pretty much the ONLY reason to get the ultimate pack due to the galaxy paint job on the Champion (as all of them have near identical laser hardpoints)... they are doing a bad job of selling their competence.

That is a difference between making 45 dollars off of one person vs 15. IF PGI think it's funny to lose 30 dollars per sale because they can't f-ing fix the scorch paint job... then go ahead... leave it the way it is.

-----------

Edit:

Also, can anyone tell me the colors that I can use on the channels to make it at least semi-presentable? It's downright atrocious right now.

Can't really tell how god or bad it is, based on that single screenshot that looks like a little baby chicken.
