What damage threshold in the Academy, Shooting Gallery do I use to make the mechs as hard to kill as in the game?

Damage threshold doesn't seem to make a difference.
The Easy, Medium and Hard seem to make a difference, but the mechs still seem to be too easy to kill.

Well, some stock chassis don't have maximising armor.

With the damage threshold set at 20.0 (the highest) I can kill most of them with one or two blasts from two LP-Lasers fired simultaneously. That never happens in a PUG.
