....is broken. The game stopped to be fun since you have to face a total team of noobs or get a team of noobs. It ends with 12-2 or even 12-0 in 90% of all games.

Fix it, you are losing your paying base of customers slowly. Don't mix T1 / T2 with T3 / T4. I rather wait 5 minutes and have quality games instead of wasting hours in pointless games. Ranks should mean something.

But unfortunately they aren't completely accurate.

Problem lies deeper within the tiers themselves. The bias to moving up tiers over time is real and results in more people in tier 1/2/3 then there should be, resulting in the matchmaker not being able to do anything about it.

You can be a potato on a winning team and keep going up, until you start getting stomped, problem is it takes WAAAAY longer to drop tier then go up. So the cycle never truly ends.

PSR is a simple exp bar for near average and better than average players. Eventually every one of such players becomes T1. Segregating tiers isn't going to solve anything. There are dozens of topics discussing the problem in detail on this forum already. Apparently nobody cares. MWO matchmaker is just another placeholder so they can say "hey we got a matchmaker". That perfectly summs up its functions.

They could use the effective damage a player does to filter out noobs who rise with good players.
Effective means you kill mechs by hitting one spot all the time. Then add kill / death ratio to it and your set.

Would also punish LRM spam, since it's highly ineffective but will give you good damage and rank you up fast.

Look they could (in theory) do lots of things, but they've clearly shown that they are both unwilling and unable (lazy and dumb to put it simply). Not sure who they are blaming nowadays, I mean IGP thing got old long ago. Trump maybe? Or russian hackers. Anyhow, all resources are going towards MW5, we are stuck with what we have. If you really want fun close matches you can always join a unit that has a competitive league team.

Main problem is probably too few players and not the PSR system.

If you really would get a game with 24 Tier 1 players you would call that a good game, but lots of T2 and T3 players are mixed into the matches. Worst are the games spawed at Tier 3 where you are the lone- or one of a few guest Tier 1 player(s) thrown in to fill up the match.... So as long as we don't get pure Tier 1 games there is no point in blaming the Tier system.

I and some others players did heard some rumors about all of this :
  • Tina would be the MM. Plz tweet russ for nerf the MM.
  • Unknow players who are populating the solo queue and FP queue would be some [Redacted] hired by PGI, playing with one hand for each account for we got 2x more potatoes to carry or kill.
But it's not verified now, we are still investigating.

Hmmm... I feel like it's been better lately. I'm getting a lot of games with other known T1s and matches have been noticeably more intense.

I mean at the point I'm waiting 10 minutes to play, I would expect the match to last longer than 10 minutes or at least allow me to play in the mechlab while waiting.

No the PSR is biased towards rising in rank. Regardless of population, the ranks are not accurate.

This is the same sort of problem PGI had with their Elo ranking.

Using biased metric to try to create a balanced team can never result in consistently good matches. Which is what we see typically.
